Job summary

CommonSpirit Memorial is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to perform skilled mechanical maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and systems. You will troubleshoot, inspect, and maintain a wide range of machinery and building systems to ensure safe, efficient operation.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and 3+ years in commercial construction or industrial maintenance, plus 1 year in a hospital facilities environment. Vocational training is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate; 3+ years in commercial construction or industrial maintenance.
• At least 1 year of practical experience in a hospital facilities department.
• Preferred: vocational or trade school diploma.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled mechanical maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot, inspect, and preventively maintain machinery to minimize downtime.
• Respond to repair requests and ensure safe, efficient operation of building systems.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area; report issues to supervision as needed.
• Adjust schedules or shifts to meet department staffing needs.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing skilled mechanical maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and systems.

Every day you will troubleshoot, inspect, and maintain a wide range of machinery and building systems, executing preventative maintenance, responding to repair requests, and ensuring safe and efficient operation.

To be successful, you will demonstrate strong technical skills, meticulous attention to detail in diagnostics and repair, and the ability to work independently to minimize downtime and maintain operational continuity.

• Completes assigned work orders and/or PMs in a timely manner or informs supervisor of any problems accomplishing a task.
• Immediately identifies and informs the supervisor of any malfunctioning equipment.
• Achieves to reduce maintenance and utility costs through improved operational procedures.
• Helps to maintain a clean, safe and organized work area.
• Maintains a professional attitude toward patients, visitors and staff at all times.
• Varies work schedule or shift to meet the department staffing needs.

Job Requirements

Required

• High School Graduate, upon hire
• At least three (3) years of commercial construction or industrial maintenance experience, upon hire or
• At least one (1) year of practical experience in an accredited hospital Facilities department, upon hire

Preferred

• Vocational School Grad Graduate of Trade School
