Description: Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Aurora, IL. This position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and completing repairs on production machinery and facility systems. The ideal candidate will have experience working with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and HVAC systems and be committed to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment, machinery, and facility systems.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify and address potential equipment issues.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Repair or replace worn, damaged, or malfunctioning components in a timely manner.
- Respond to emergency maintenance and repair requests as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and completed repairs.
- Ensure equipment complies with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Assist with facility improvements, renovations, and general maintenance projects.
- Perform preventative maintenance and basic repairs on HVAC systems.
- Work collaboratively with production and maintenance team members to minimize downtime.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1-2 years of maintenance mechanic experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment.
- Basic electrical repair and maintenance experience required.
- Must own and maintain a basic set of maintenance tools.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to act calmly and effectively during maintenance emergencies.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physical tasks throughout a 12-hour shift.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving equipment and machinery.
