Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for a project in Abilene, TX. Candidates must have 3+ years as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic and be able to diagnose and repair hydraulic, electric, and power-train systems on heavy equipment like Caterpillar, Liebherr, Xtreme, and Takeuchi.

Compensation includes up to $35 per hour with a $700 weekly per diem, and a 7:00am–7:00pm, Saturday schedule. Overtime, weekends and nights may be required; drug/alcohol screen required. Equal opportunity employer.

Kiewit is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic for their Project located in Abilene, TX.

Experience Level

3+ years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
Must be able to maintain, diagnose, and repair all types of heavy construction equipment including hydraulic,
electric, and power train systems.
Experience working with the following equipment: Caterpillar, Liebherr, Xtreme, Takeuchi.
Experience working with the following diagnostic systems: CAT ET, Cummins INSITE, Diesel Laptop.

Up to $35 per hour.
$700 per week worked per diem.
Current schedule is 7:00am – 7:00pm, Monday – Saturday.
Must be willing to work additional overtime, weekends and nights when required.
All offers are contingent on your ability to pass a Drug and Alcohol.

Qualifications

• May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Must possess working knowledge skills and abilities for position.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safe and efficiently.

• The person in this position needs to constantly move about a construction/industrial site, so should be able to
  stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
• Constantly works in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions
• Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required
• May be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access required equipment/work
  areas (may exceed 200 feet), so must be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs,
  ladders and scaffolds
• Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces
• Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment
• May be required/able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across construction/industrial site
• Must have required tools
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as required
• Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing and fit for duty medical and non DOT physical test
