Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for a project in Abilene, TX. The role requires 3+ years in heavy equipment maintenance and hands-on repair of hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems.

You will work a 7:00 am – 5:00 pm schedule, Monday through Saturday, with overtime as needed and must pass drug/alcohol testing plus a non-DOT medical exam. Experience on Caterpillar, Liebherr, Xtreme, and Takeuchi machines and proficiency with CAT ET, Cummins INSITE, and Diesel Laptop is

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
• Ability to maintain, diagnose, and repair heavy construction equipment.
• Experience with Caterpillar, Liebherr, Xtreme and Takeuchi equipment.
• Experience with CAT ET, Cummins INSITE and Diesel Laptop diagnostics.
• Willing to work overtime, weekends, and nights as required.
• Drug and alcohol test and non-DOT medical fitness test required.
• Current schedule is 7:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday – Saturday.

• Kiewit Foundations is looking for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for their project located in Abilene, TX.

Experience Level

• 3+ years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
• Must be able to maintain, diagnose, and repair all types of heavy construction equipment including hydraulic, electric, and power train systems.
• Experience working with the following equipment: Caterpillar, Liebherr, Xtreme, Takeuchi.
• Experience working with the following diagnostic systems: CAT ET, Cummins INSITE, Diesel Laptop.
• Rate starting at $35.00 per hour
• Current schedule is 7:00 am – 5:00pm, Monday – Saturday.
• Must be willing to work additional overtime, weekends and nights when required.
• All offers are contingent on your ability to pass a Drug and Alcohol and non DOT physical test

Qualifications

• The person in this position needs to constantly move about a construction/industrial site, so should be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
• Constantly works in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions
• Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required
• May be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access required equipment/work areas (may exceed 200 feet), so must be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs,ladders and scaffolds
• Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces
• Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment
• May be required/able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across construction/industrial site
• Must have required tools
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as required
• Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing and fit for duty medical and non DOT physical test
