Base pay range

$84,000.00/yr - $135,000.00/yr

Summary Of Position

The Maintenance Manager supervises and coordinates day-to-day activities of workers engaged in maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment, systems, and physical structures of buildings and grounds. The Maintenance Manager is also responsible for maintaining good equipment reliability through the administration of the Preventative Maintenance and Work Order system. This position plans, directs and coordinates activities of designated projects to ensure that objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.

Essential Functions

  • Directs day-to-day activities of maintenance department and assigns tasks to department personnel based on production, safety, quality, and environmental priorities. Recommends the use of Contractors, where appropriate.
  • Plans, directs and coordinates activities of designated Capital Projects to ensure that objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
  • Responsible for implementation and maintenance of the Preventive Maintenance and Work Order System.
  • Maintains equipment files.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors to ensure repairs, installation, and troubleshooting of site facilities and equipment and completed in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for limiting overtime of department employees. Conducting performance reviews, time clock approvals, and discipline of employees in coordination with Human Resources.
  • Ensures critical spares are inventoried or assembled for emergency installation.
  • Responsible for the inventory control of spare parts and materials, this includes requisitions of tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Routinely observes operating equipment to identify problems and necessary repairs.
  • Leads an interdepartmental team to complete an assigned maintenance project on time, to specifications, and with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Outlines the tasks involved in the project and delegates accordingly.
  • Conducts cost analysis, estimating expected costs for the project.
  • Assists with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific maintenance projects.
  • Addresses questions, concerns, and/or complaints throughout the project.
  • Acts as a liaison between company, and vendors on any maintenance project.
  • Enforces compliance with all applicable regulatory agency requirements (OSHA, EPA, etc.)
  • Observes all scheduled safety meetings and completes all additional training required.
  • Enforces compliance with GMP and other Food Industry/customer requirements.

Experience/Education

  • Minimum of 3 years as a Maintenance Manager in a food manufacturing facility.
  • Associate Degree in Applied Science with a major in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Maintenance.

Qualifications/Skills/Special Abilities

  • Computer literate with working knowledge of MS Office and CAD. EAM experience a plus.
  • Ability to read and write and comprehend complex technical material.
  • Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures required.
  • Working knowledge of on-site and off-site emergency response plans.
  • Excellent mechanical ability.
  • Must be capable of inspecting existing handling systems and design blueprints and determine the viability of the systems.
  • Must be able to improvise and resolve concerns/problems in the field.
  • Must be innovative.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand and walk on concrete floors.
  • Must be able to work in different temperatures.
