Job summary

SpaceX in Bastrop, TX seeks a Manager, Machine Maintenance - Solar Cell Factory to lead ramp-up and reliability of advanced production equipment and automation. You will build and lead the maintenance organization, drive OEE improvements, and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance while coordinating with Production and Facility Operations to protect output.

International travel ~20% is expected.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or STEM discipline, or substantial leadership experience in maintenance.
3+ years in manufacturing/operations maintenance leadership.
2+ years in a leadership role.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop a maintenance team for 24/7 reliability of solar cell production equipment.
Develop and execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to achieve >95% equipment availability on critical lines.
Oversee rapid troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and permanent fixes for complex systems (vacuum deposition, chemical processing, automation).
Partner with Production and Facility Operations to integrate maintenance with factory schedules while protecting output targets.
Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts and vendor relationships to optimize cost and reliability.
Drive continuous improvement to increase OEE and support rapid factory scaling.
Ensure safety, cleanroom standards, and regulatory compliance in all maintenance activities.
