Job summary

South Beach Group Hotels is seeking a Maintenance Manager to direct all hotel maintenance operations in Miami Beach. The role supervises engineering staff, ensures safety, and directs preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime.

The candidate will manage budgets, train personnel, and implement process improvements across mechanical systems while upholding company policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• A minimum of 4 years of relevant engineering/maintenance experience.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a hotel environment.
• Extensive knowledge in a variety of mechanical systems.
• Previous managerial experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, manage and direct all maintenance procedures and operations.
• Ensure all machinery is up to working standards.
• Assess current maintenance work processes to optimize efficiency.
• Use data analysis to help prepare for and prevent future problems.
• Create and implement measures to minimize breakdowns and repairs; perform quality checks of all machinery, tools, equipment, etc.

• Train new employees in maintenance work processes and procedures.

Summary/Objective

The Maintenance Manager position will direct and oversee all daily maintenance activities including delegation of tasks, tracking mechanical performance, and directing the processes of any necessary repairs.

This role manages and directs staff management in engineering, quality, etc. The role is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of direct reports and for carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Work environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at constructions job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days vary based on business needs. This includes weekends, holidays, evenings and/or overnight shifts.
