Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains PM program for processing equipment by scheduling and managing all maintenance activities.
• Manages the operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; adhering to manuals and specs; troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Identify problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
• Manages full-time, temporary and contract maintenance personnel.
• Develops and maintains contracts with vendors.
• Purchases and negotiates cost-effective tools, parts and maintenance/repair services.
• Leads routine preventive maintenance to avoid downtime and monitors adherence.
• Maintains inventories by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing orders, verifying receipt.
• Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information.
• Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions and needs.
• Keeps a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and regulations.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains PM program for processing equipment by scheduling and managing all maintenance activities
• Manages the operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; adhering to operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Ability to identify problems by observing mechanical devices in operation
• Manages full-time, temporary and contract maintenance personnel
• Develops and maintains contracts with vendors
• Ability to purchase and negotiate cost effective tools, parts and maintenance/repair service from suppliers
• Manages and avoids downtime by leading personnel in routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring adherence
• Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt
• Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
• Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations

Education

• High School Diploma
• Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering
