Job summary

TaylorCraft Cabinet Door is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance operations, ensuring the performance, reliability, and longevity of production equipment and facility infrastructure.

You will lead preventive maintenance, troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and manage maintenance staff to drive safety, compliance and continuous improvement in a woodworking manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years progressive experience in industrial maintenance, with 3+ years in a supervisory role.
  • Manufacturing environment experience, preferably woodworking, cabinet or millwork.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanical power transmission.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive Preventive Maintenance program for all production equipment (CNC routers, edge banders, finishing lines).
  • Prioritize repairs and ensure timely resolution of equipment breakdowns.
  • Champion safety culture and enforce Lockout/Tagout and other protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections and repairs.

Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and longevity of all production equipment, machinery, and facility infrastructure. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in industrial maintenance, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Maintenance Operations and Management
  • Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive Preventive Maintenance program for all production equipment, including CNC machinery, edge banders, finishing lines, material handling systems, and facility utilities.
  • Prioritize repairs, and ensure timely and effective resolution of all equipment breakdowns.
Technical Expertise and Troubleshooting
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems typical in a woodworking manufacturing environment.
  • Ensure all machinery is maintained in compliance with manufacturer specifications, safety regulations, and codes.
  • Manage the maintenance of specialized woodworking equipment, including:
    • CNC Routers and Machining Centers
    • Moulding and Shaping Equipment
Safety and Compliance
  • Champion a culture of safety within the maintenance department and throughout the facility.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Lockout/Tagout procedures, confined space entry, and other critical safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
  • Identify opportunities for process and equipment improvement to enhance efficiency, reduce downtime, and lower operating costs.
Required Experience and Skills
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 3 years in a management or supervisory role.
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably woodworking, cabinet, or millwork production.
  • Demonstrated expertise in industrial electrical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical power transmission.
Education
  • Associate’s degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Or equivalent experience.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to:

  • Remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Move about the factory floor to access machinery, materials, and product storage.
  • Transport materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Position self to work on equipment, including bending, kneeling, and stooping.
  • Operate, activate, and use production machinery and hand tools that require repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Detect and inspect parts for quality control at close vision (less than 20 inches) and assess safety hazards from a distance (20 feet or more).

The employee will be exposed to a manufacturing environment where the noise level can be loud and will work around moving mechanical parts. Regular exposure to airborne particles and temperature fluctuations should be expected. The use of appropriate PPE is required.
