Job summary

Drax is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance function at our wood pellet manufacturing facility in Morehouse, Louisiana. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for the Maintenance Department, overseeing planning, reliability initiatives, budgets, and continuous improvement.

This hands-on role develops a high-performing team of up to 20 engineers and technicians, drives safety, and partners with Operations and Reliability

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of maintenance or related industrial experience with responsibility for maintenance assets.
• Experience leading and supervising maintenance teams.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance planning, asset reliability, and preventive maintenance programs.
• Experience using CMMS software.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, and RCM principles.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field; additional reliability/leadership certifications are assets.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all maintenance activities and personnel across the facility.
• Develop and execute plant maintenance strategies focused on safety, reliability, and efficiency.
• Manage maintenance budgets, resources, and small capital improvement projects.
• Champion safety culture by fostering a safe and healthy workplace and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Partner with Operations and Reliability teams to minimize downtime and improve maintenance KPIs.
• Utilize CMMS to manage work orders, equipment history, and spare parts inventory.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
