Job summary

Southern Recruiting Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Manager for Fixed & Rotating Equipment in San Francisco. You will lead the engineering team, set priorities, and drive reliability across fixed and rotating equipment in a chemical/process environment.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, 10+ years on fixed/rotating equipment, and 5+ years in management. You will oversee compliance, MOC/HAZOP processes, and major maintenance projects with relocation provided.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience with fixed and rotating equipment in process industries.
  • 5+ years of management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the fixed and rotating equipment engineering team and set department priorities and objectives.
  • Provide technical leadership for pressure vessels, piping, heat exchangers, tanks, pumps, compressors, and other critical equipment.
  • Develop and maintain equipment reliability and mechanical integrity programs.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, API, ASME, NFPA, and applicable standards.
  • Oversee inspection, testing, repair, and maintenance strategies for fixed equipment.
  • Provide technical direction for rotating equipment reliability, predictive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Review equipment failures and lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Develop and manage equipment replacement, reliability, and capital improvement projects.
  • Establish equipment criticality assessments and risk-based inspection strategies.
  • Support MOC, PHA/HAZOP, PSSR, and process safety initiatives.
  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Process Engineering, and EHS teams.
  • Provide engineering support for turnarounds, outages, and major maintenance activities.
  • Evaluate equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and operating efficiency.
  • Manage engineering consultants, contractors, equipment suppliers, and inspection service providers.
  • Review equipment specifications, engineering designs, calculations, and vendor documentation.
  • Develop department budgets, capital plans, and long-term equipment reliability strategies.
  • Identify and implement technologies that improve equipment reliability and predictive maintenance.
  • Relocation provided.

Requirements

  • The Maintenance Manager, Fixed & Rotating Equipment, will have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline required.
  • Typically requires 10+ years of experience with fixed and rotating equipment in a chemical plant, refinery, or other process manufacturing environment. 5+ years of management experience.
  • Strong leadership, project management, troubleshooting, communication, and decision-making skills are required.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
