Job summary

Prysmian in Williamsport, PA is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead the site’s maintenance function, drive reliability, safety, and continuous improvement, and mentor a skilled team across mechanical, electrical, and automation disciplines.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will own preventive maintenance programs, manage CAPEX projects, control budgets, and ensure compliance with safety, ISO, and quality standards while sustaining high uptime and production efficiency.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of progressive maintenance experience in a manufacturing or plant environment.
  • Technical degree in Engineering, Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience managing capital projects (CAPEX) and supplier coordination is an asset.
  • Strong plant-level maintenance background with leadership experience.
  • Working knowledge of ERP tools such as SAP and MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and prioritize daily maintenance activities across equipment, facilities, and production areas.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance programs, TPM schedules, calibration, and follow-up on missed maintenance.
  • Manage mechanical, electrical, and automation breakdowns to reduce downtime.
  • Delegate work based on skill set, shift needs, and project priorities.
  • Lead maintenance projects, including new equipment installation and contractor coordination.
  • Prepare and manage the maintenance budget and CAPEX proposals.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, ISO, quality, and company standards.
  • Conduct root cause analyses, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
  • Develop the maintenance team and monitor KPIs for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external service providers for operational needs.

Position Summary

As Maintenance Manager, you will lead the site’s Maintenance function and play a key role in ensuring our equipment, facilities, and operations run safely, efficiently, and reliably. In this role, you will oversee both reactive and proactive maintenance activities, build and manage planned maintenance schedules, and ensure work is completed on time and to high standards.

You will drive continuous improvement across the site by improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, enhancing project execution, and supporting key operational KPIs. This is a hands‑on leadership opportunity where you will mentor and develop a skilled maintenance team, establish best practices and standard procedures, and help create a strong culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Maintenance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the site’s facilities, equipment, layout, and production machinery operate at optimal efficiency and reliability. This role will oversee both preventative maintenance programs and the effective resolution of mechanical, electrical, and automation‑related breakdowns, including software programming support when required.

In addition to driving equipment performance and minimizing downtime, the Maintenance Manager will lead and develop the maintenance team, manage departmental priorities, and oversee budgetary planning, cost control, and reporting. This is a key leadership role focused on supporting safe, efficient, and continuous manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and prioritize daily maintenance activities across equipment, facilities, and production areas.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance programs, including TPM schedules, calibration, and follow‑up on missed maintenance activities.
  • Manage mechanical, electrical, and automation‑related breakdowns to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.
  • Delegate work to the maintenance team based on skill set, shift needs, and project priorities.
  • Support and manage maintenance‑related projects, including new equipment installation, supplier coordination, and contractor management.
  • Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, including material spending, forecasts, and capital expenditure proposals.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, ISO, quality, and company standards.
  • Conduct or support root cause analysis, risk assessments, and corrective action plans.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance team, including staffing, performance follow‑up, and skills development.
  • Monitor maintenance KPIs, report on progress, and identify actions to support continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, suppliers, contractors, and service providers to support operational needs.
  • Provide support for emergency maintenance issues across a 24x7 operation.
Knowledge and skill requirements:
  • 5–10 years of progressive maintenance experience in a manufacturing or plant environment.
  • Technical degree in Engineering, Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, or a related field preferred; equivalent hands‑on experience may also be considered.
  • Experience managing capital projects, including CAPEX planning, equipment installations, and supplier coordination, is an asset.
  • Strong plant‑level maintenance background with proven experience leading teams in an industrial environment.
  • Working knowledge of maintenance systems and ERP tools, such as SAP or similar platforms, along with strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, engage, and manage cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting.
