Job summary

ROCKWOOL is seeking an onsite Maintenance Manager for our new Wallula, WA facility. You will provide strategic leadership over plant maintenance, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient operation of production equipment, facilities, and utilities.

Responsibilities include preventive/predictive maintenance, root cause analysis, budgeting, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will lead a team to maximize uptime, collaborate with Engineering and Operations, and promote a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of maintenance management experience in manufacturing.
• Proven leadership and interpersonal skills with strong employee relations.
• Experience with high‑volume, highly automated production equipment.
• Strong understanding and application of Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Experience with TPM and equipment reliability programs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; good communication skills.

We are seeking an onsite Maintenance Manager in our new Wallula, WA to join the ROCKWOOL team. As a Maintenance Manager you will provide strategic leadership and oversight into all plant maintenance operations, ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient performance of production equipment, facilities, and infrastructure. This role is responsible for the maintenance and servicing of electrical, mechanical, and isotope systems; the development and execution of preventive and predictive maintenance programs; and the upkeep of the physical plant, utilities, and grounds. The Maintenance Manager also ensures compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements while driving continuous improvement initiatives to maximize equipment reliability and operational performance. What you will be doing:

• Lead and develop the Maintenance team to maximize equipment reliability, reduce downtime and mean time between failures (MTBF), and improve overall equipment availability and plant uptime.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs for production equipment, machinery, facilities, and utilities in partnership with Engineering and Operations.
• Oversee daily maintenance activities, establish priorities, communicate the operational plan, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to established quality standards.
• Drive effective troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to identify and resolve equipment, process, material, operator, measurement, and environmental issues.
• Ensure maintenance processes, procedures, and documentation are developed, maintained, and aligned with operational, safety, and reliability requirements.
• Lead equipment testing, optimization, commissioning, and validation activities for new and existing equipment, including participation in capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure appropriate spare parts, tools, and resources are available to support maximum equipment uptime while maintaining effective cost control and inventory management.
• Manage the Maintenance budget and lead cost-reduction and maintenance optimization initiatives while balancing reliability, operational performance, and financial objectives.
• Monitor and report equipment and machinery performance through daily, weekly, and monthly metrics, using data to identify trends, prioritize opportunities, and drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure all facility systems, machinery, buildings, and grounds are properly maintained to support safe, reliable, and uninterrupted plant operations.
• Partner with the leadership team and internal customers to identify improvement opportunities, support investment requests, manage projects, and implement new technologies and equipment.
• Promote a strong safety culture by leading by example, providing appropriate training, and ensuring compliance with all applicable health, safety, environmental, regulatory, and security requirements.
• Ensure equipment subject to legislative or regulatory requirements is properly inspected, tested, maintained, and documented in accordance with applicable standards.
• Build a culture of teamwork, inclusion, accountability, and continuous improvement within the Maintenance Department and across the facility.
• Support the onboarding, training, mentoring, cross-training, and ongoing development of Maintenance employees and plant operators to strengthen technical capabilities and operational performance.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and other functional teams to develop and validate safe, reliable maintenance and production processes.
• Follow all applicable company policies, procedures, safety rules, regulations, and security guidelines.

What you bring:

• 5–7 years of maintenance management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven leadership skills with strong interpersonal abilities and a solid understanding of effective employee relations.
• Experience maintaining and supporting high-volume, highly automated production equipment.
• Strong understanding and practical application of Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Strong experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and equipment reliability programs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and a demonstrated safety-first mindset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively to employees at all levels.
• Demonstrated sense of urgency and sound judgment in communicating critical information to the appropriate stakeholders.
• Ability to build effective relationships and communicate confidently across all levels of the organization.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
• Collaborative, team-oriented approach with the ability to build and motivate high-performing teams.
• Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis methodologies, including A3, Fishbone, and 5 Why.

The base salary range for this position is $125,000.00 - $155,000.00. Your base salary is determined based on location, experience and the pay of employees in similar positions. This position is bonus eligible.
