Job summary

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a maintenance team of approximately 20 employees supporting a 24/7 operation.
• Oversee maintenance activities for plant processing equipment, electrical systems, mobile equipment, and facility systems.
• Provide leadership and direction to maintenance technicians, electricians, and the mobile equipment maintenance team.
• Prioritize maintenance activities based on safety, production needs, equipment reliability, and available resources.
• Develop and improve preventive maintenance programs to reduce unplanned downtime.
• Coordinate breakdown response, repairs, installations, and larger maintenance projects.
• Work closely with operations to identify recurring equipment issues and opportunities to improve reliability.
• Ensure maintenance procedures and processes are followed and continuously improved.
• Manage outside contractors, vendors, and service providers.
• Oversee maintenance parts, inventory, purchasing, and departmental expenses.
• Monitor and manage the maintenance budget.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, logs, and documentation.
• Ensure maintenance work is performed safely and in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
• Support troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Help coordinate response to critical equipment failures and major maintenance projects.

Our client is looking for a Maintenance Manager to lead a team of approximately 20 maintenance professionals at a large aluminum processing facility in Wabash.

This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing plant maintenance, electrical support, and a dedicated mobile equipment team. The majority of the maintenance organization is mechanically focused and works on the heavy processing equipment that keeps the facility operating around the clock.

We're looking for someone who understands industrial maintenance, knows how to lead skilled tradespeople, and can bring structure and accountability to a busy maintenance department.

The team is structured around several areas of responsibility:

Plant Maintenance
The majority of the team is mechanically focused and responsible for maintaining the processing equipment throughout the facility.

Electrical Maintenance
An electrician provides dedicated electrical support for the plant's equipment and systems.

Mobile Equipment
A separate maintenance group supports the facility's mobile equipment, including forklifts, yard trucks, loaders, and other material-handling equipment.
