Are you a visionary leader with a deep understanding of industrial plant maintenance? Our client, a food manufacturer, is seeking an exceptional Plant Maintenance Manager to spearhead their maintenance department and ensure their production equipment operates safely, reliably, and cost-effectively. This role is your opportunity to lead a dynamic team in a fast-paced, innovative environment where continuous improvement is not just encouraged, but expected.

Your Mission:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee robust preventive and predictive maintenance programs that support a high-performance production environment.

Team Management:

  • Lead a dedicated team comprising Reliability Leaders, Controls Leaders, maintenance technicians, E&I technicians, and support staff. Cultivate a culture of excellence, accountability, and teamwork.

Performance Optimization:

  • Monitor and analyze equipment performance to identify improvements and cost-saving opportunities. Lead root cause analysis for equipment failures and execute strategic corrective actions.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure unwavering compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards. Act as a technical resource for operating teams, addressing any safety concerns and fostering proactive problem-solving.

Operational Coordination:

  • Coordinate maintenance activities with production schedules to minimize downtime. Manage maintenance budgets, inventory, and equipment histories with precision.
  • Source and manage external contractors and suppliers to deliver high-quality, cost-effective maintenance services.

Training & Development:

  • Coordinate skill development for the Maintenance, E&I, and Reliability teams, ensuring continuous growth and operational proficiency. Implement associate rewards and discipline systems as needed.

Key Capabilities & Metrics:

Educational & Professional Background:

  • 5–10 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing plant maintenance
  • 3+ years in a managerial role

Technical Expertise:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
  • Proficiency with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
  • Familiarity with OSHA and other relevant safety and environmental regulations
  • Certifications such as CMRP or PMP are highly desirable, along with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or TPM training
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication abilities
  • Exceptional troubleshooting, critical thinking, and organizational skills
  • Proficient in using Excel, Word, Access, and other computer applications
  • Experience in food processing is preferred

Compensation:

  • Between salary and annual bonus, you can earn up to a total of $155,000 in your first year, depending on experience
