Job summary

D&W Fine Pack LLC in Kentucky seeks a Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team of maintenance technicians, oversee safety, GMP compliance, and 5S initiatives, and drive continuous improvement in machine efficiency and reliability.

You will manage preventive maintenance, coordinate repairs, monitor energy usage, and participate in plant food safety programs and SQF compliance. This role reports to Plant Manager and offers growth in a collaborative packaging environment.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience required and demonstrated leadership abilities.
• Proficient troubleshooting skills for complex manufacturing equipment.
• Strong background in preventive maintenance and equipment repair.
• Electrical skills at an intermediate level are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage annual inspections and regulatory compliance.
• Directly supervise Maintenance Technicians and oversee maintenance plans.
• Coordinate troubleshooting to maximize machine efficiency and production uptime.
• Develop and implement PM programs and energy-saving initiatives.
• Support SQF and food-safety training and documentation.

Job description

• Maintains and orders annual inspections as required by governmental regulatory agencies. Manages and controls the use, storage andtimelydisposal of hazardous materials and wastes. Maintains and tests of fire suppression sprinkler systemin accordance withlocal, State and Federal regulations. Serves as plant liaison with Fire Department and other emergency responders. Assures periodic testing and maintenance of the facility’s emergency lighting and related systems; ensures periodic inspection and testing of all fire extinguishers; conducts periodic testing of facility’s crane hoists
• Ensures employees follow plant quality practices including Good Manufacturing Practices, or GMP’s
• Monitors manufacturing process to ensure that all processes areoperatingwithin defined production and quality standards
• Makes recommendations and assembles comprehensive solutions to the Plant to improve machine efficiencies and quality improvements
• Develops and administers departmental 5S program consistent with the plant-wide initiatives
• Monitors andmaintainsscheduled productivity and leads team to achieve planned schedule attainment goals
• Ensures machinery and equipment repairs are performed promptly, correctly, and within establishedtimeframes
• Coordinates troubleshooting efforts so that machine efficiency can be maximized
• Exercises continuous improvement processes and techniquesin order toenhance the department’s performance results
• Prioritizes and follows-up on all maintenance activities; manages labor costs by maximizing employee productivity
• Develops, implements, andmonitorsPM program across all areas of the manufacturing plant
• Directly supervises a department of Maintenance Technicians, carries out supervisory responsibilitiesin accordance withthe organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; conducts operator testing asrequired
• Defines,developsand controls all maintenance related procedures, specifications, computer programs, work instructions, and machinery repair/troubleshooting manuals; Prepares andsubmitsPurchase Requests for necessary materials
• Monitors and analyzes utility usages and develops energy savings programs
• Oversees the administration of Work Order database and machine histories and logs;maintainscurrent machine manuals and resource materials
• Develops andmaintainsdepartmental budgets; controls departmental operating expenses and plant supply costs
• Compiles,preparesandsubmitsperformance reports as directed
• Supports the Plant’s Food Safety initiatives by completing plant required Food Safety training and byimplementing / complying withthe required practices
• Support SQF through compliance with SQF standard practices and policies
• Assist SQF teams, audits, and documentation as necessary
• In the absence of the Maintenance Manager, the roles and responsibilities of this position will be fulfilled as designated, documented, and approved by the Plant Manager.

Safety

• Follows plant safety procedures and guidelines; wears and utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Informssupervisor of safety issues; reports any workplace injury or incidentimmediately.
• Follows plant quality practices including Good Manufacturing Practices, or GMP’s.
• Activelyparticipatesin the D&W safety improvement process/activities,e.g.Hazard Identification, Safety Suggestions, Safety Teams, etc.
