Job summary

Touchpoints at Bloomfield is seeking a Maintenance Manager to direct and perform building, grounds, and utility maintenance at a nursing home. This role oversees HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety compliance, ensuring reliable operations and resident comfort.

You will lead maintenance staff, manage preventive maintenance logs, coordinate with administration on budgets, and drive improvements while fostering a respectful, collaborative environment across teams.

Qualifications

• Requires minimum four years of maintenance experience.
• Experience in mechanical, electrical, construction and HVAC.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
• Knowledge of state/federal building codes.
• Supervisory experience in maintenance.
• Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing).

Responsibilities

• Directs maintenance staff and ensures buildings, grounds, and facilities are maintained at all times.
• Reviews and maintains preventive maintenance logs and schedules.
• Provides training to maintenance staff in basic plumbing and electrical tasks per regulations and policy.
• Repairs and maintains wheelchairs, beds, furniture, and other equipment.
• Collaborates with Administrator on staff relations and payroll matters.
• Manages budget with Administrator; orders supplies and plans future projects.
• Maintains a positive, respectful attitude toward residents and staff.

Summary

The primary role of the Maintenance Manager is to direct and conduct physical plant maintenance and grounds upkeep at a nursing home. Maintenance includes building improvements, grounds, utilities, and mechanical/electric systems.

Responsibilities

• Manages maintenance staff and ensures assigned building, grounds and facilities are maintained at all times.
• Reviews and maintains preventive maintenance logs and ensure that preventative maintenance is being done on a regularly scheduled basis.
• Responsible for providing training and development to all maintenance staff such as basic plumbing and electrical in accordance with regulations and company policies.
• Ensures that all repair work is completed on wheelchairs, beds, furniture, dryers, air conditioning units, refrigerators, freezers, floors, and ceilings.
• With Administrator oversight, is responsible for Maintenance staff employee relations.
• Works closely with the Administrator to manage and operate within the allotted budget, including ordering supplies and equipment and planning for future projects.
• Maintains a positive and respectful attitude towards management, residents, employees, and visitors.
