Job summary

PTC is seeking a Maintenance Manager to plan, direct, and coordinate the maintenance department at a production facility in Liberty, TX. The role centers on implementing a sound preventative maintenance program, overseeing project work, and performing machine repairs in a heavy metals environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with Plant Operations, Safety, and Quality teams, oversee 10–25 maintenance staff, and coordinate training and vendor support while reporting to the Plant

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent maintenance experience.
• Must have supervisory experience of maintenance staff.
• Must have experience in steel or related industries.
• Must have excellent electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills and experience.

Responsibilities

• Delegate direction, planning and scheduling of Maintenance personnel and equipment on their shift.
• Study production schedules and estimate worker hours; coordinates materials for projects.
• Ensure quality standards are met and assignments are completed on time.
• Enforce safety regulations and interpret company policies to workers.
• Coordinate with other supervisors to manage manpower and repairs and training.
• Develop and train maintenance staff within area of responsibility.

Job Summary

PTC is seeking a Maintenance Manager with the primary responsibility for planning, directing, coordinating, and managing the maintenance department of a production facility. Essential to the position is the organization and execution of a sound preventative maintenance program including all project work, internal and external building and grounds maintenance and machine repair. Heavy metals and factory experience required.

The successful candidate will work closely with the plant departments, Plant Operations, Safety Supervisor, and Quality Manager. The position reports to the Plant Manager. Successful candidate will oversee all required training for maintenance staff, work with outside vendors and provide support during production interruptions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Delegates responsibility for the direction, planning, and scheduling of Maintenance personnel and equipment on their shift in the most effective manner in order to provide for maximum utilization of personnel and equipment.
• Studies production schedules and prepares estimates of worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments. Coordinates ordering of materials as required for timely completion of projects.
• Checks work of personnel assigned to insure quality standards are being met and for timely completion of assignments.
• Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
• Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
• Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
• Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of the shop, department, and work crew.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems as well as assists workers in solving work problems.
• Maintains time and production records.
• Confers with other supervisors to coordinate repairs with the activities of individual departments.
• Keeps the Department Supervisor informed of any issues pertaining to quality and effectively recommends action to resolve or remedy such issues.
• Coordinates with other supervisors to manage manpower and cover open jobs created by vacations or report-offs.
• Counsels and disciplines as required in accordance with Company policies.
• Develops and trains all personnel within the area of responsibility.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in Maintenance
• Must have supervisory experience of maintenance staff
• Must have experience in steel or related industries
• Must have excellent electrical and mechanical trouble shooting skills and experience

Preferred Experience

• Hands-on experience with Oracle ERP System(s)
