Job summary

Seaboard Energy is hiring a Maintenance Manager to oversee installation, repair, and upkeep of plant equipment at refinery facilities. The role includes developing maintenance goals, monitoring reliability, inspecting equipment, and supervising staff within a rigorous safety framework.

The position reports to the Plant Manager and collaborates with management to implement SOPs, QMS, API, OSHA, and PSM guidelines while coordinating contractor activities and maintaining records.

  • Monitor and perform prescribed checks of all operating equipment to ensure proper operation.

Summary

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the oversight of installation, repair, and upkeep of operational equipment at the refinery facilities. The role includes developing maintenance goals, monitoring reliability, inspecting equipment, overseeing staff schedules, ensuring proper documentation, and developing SOPs and maintenance check sheets. The manager works closely with other members of management.

Responsibilities
  • Establish and enforce safety procedures for safe operation of equipment and handling of chemicals.
  • Oversee day‑to‑day plant maintenance, identify problems, and develop, implement corrective and preventative measures.
  • Ensure personnel follow safe LOTO, permitting, repair operations, and return‑to‑service procedures.
  • Follow the maintenance schedule, troubleshoot repair issues, provide solutions and daily reports to management.
  • Monitor and perform prescribed checks of all operating equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Maintain inspection records, mechanical integrity program logs, approve invoices, and prepare or update work and on‑call schedules.
  • Provide leadership in professionalism and ethics.
  • Interface with customers, suppliers, vendors, regional maintenance support, and staff support.
  • Support and help implement and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), ASTM standards, Operating Policy, and API compliance.
  • Advise on OSHA guidelines and PSM objectives, and implement ongoing improvement plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all governing agency regulations and requirements; assist with payroll completion, and coordinate contractor activities.
  • Plan, review, and schedule project work with the plant manager; administer the MOC process and support plant maintenance operations.
  • Supervise employees under the direction of the Plant Manager, including training, planning, assigning, directing work, and resolving problems.
Requirements
  • Mechanical engineering degree preferred, or 5–8 years of oil refining managerial experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret English‑language correspondence, reports, journals, technical procedures, and regulations.
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from supervisors, regulators, consultants, and the public.
  • Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions.
  • Ability to make routine decisions on policy matters.
  • Ability to plan, schedule, and execute a mechanical maintenance window.
  • Ability to define and solve practical problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to handle abstract and concrete variables in situations.
  • Ability to apply mathematical formulas to practical situations.
  • Must work primarily in an advisory capacity and have authority to remove employees from imminent danger conditions.
  • Must maintain informal daily contact with the supervisor.

Work Environment

The work environment varies between office, plant production, and outside climate conditions based on the situation. Noise levels vary depending on the area of production.

Normal Work Schedule

Days Monday to Friday. Hours and days are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. Occasional schedule changes may occur.
