Job summary

Papa Johns in Freedom, PA is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations in a food manufacturing environment, optimize spare parts management, and drive safety and uptime.

Position requires 5+ years of maintenance leadership, knowledge of USDA audits, HACCP, OSHA, and P&L experience. Responsibilities include PM program development, budget oversight, and cross-functional team leadership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years managing maintenance in manufacturing.
• Experience with USDA audits, HACCP, OSHA, etc.
• LEAN Manufacturing knowledge is a plus.
• P&L experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop the maintenance and facility sanitation team members in a continuous improvement food manufacturing and distribution environment.
• Serve as liaison with outside contractors as needed.
• Supervise and train maintenance and custodial teams, conduct timely performance reviews, hold regularly scheduled shift meetings.
• Maintain organization and sanitation of maintenance parts, tools and departmental area.
• Lead and participate in PJFS system wide cross-functional teams and taskforces.
• Develop and manage department budget and manage all financial aspects of the department including capital project estimates and payroll.
• Develop and maintain long-term strategic capital plan that includes equipment replacement and productivity improvement/cost savings.
• Coordinate, plan and develop contingency plans with the Center Leadership Team to minimize operational interruptions.

Job description

• The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing and leading all aspects of maintenance operations including optimizing the storage and cost management of spare parts management, team member safety, superior customer service to your internal customers, downtime reduction planning and team member and Shift Manager personal development by directing the performance review process twice per year. This position will ensure adherence to all PJFS quality assurance programs, develops leadership skills in self and direct reports, while creating a safe working environment according to company standards. This position ensures quality management to all aspects of maintenance, repair, modification and safety operations to allow the Quality Control Center (QCC) to maintain operations and productivity.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and develop the maintenance team and facility sanitation team members in a continuous improvement food manufacturing and distribution environment.
• Serve as liaison with outside contractors as needed.
• Supervise and train maintenance and custodial teams, conduct timely performance reviews, hold regularly scheduled shift meetings.
• Maintain organization and sanitation of maintenance parts, tools and departmental area.
• Function as a key member on the Center Leadership Team in leading and demonstrating Papa John’s Core values while ensuring daily business and customer service objectives are achieved.
• Manage the overall leadership in safety awareness and performance in the department and throughout the QCC.
• Lead and participate in PJFS system wide cross-functional teams and taskforces.
• Manage overall department performance to assist in meeting plant goals and objectives.
• Provide leadership of the department to develop and manage preventive maintenance (“PM”) program using a parts management system and ensure PM is performed safely and according to manufacturer and PJ Food Service policies.
• Lead and participate in all major repairs, capital & maintenance projects and manage outside contractors as necessary.
• Maintain productivity standards by providing metrics surrounding key performance indicators. Recommend ways to increase productivity levels/performance through knowledge of formal continuous improvement methodology
• Develop and manage department budget and manage all financial aspects of the department including capital project estimates and payroll.
• Develop and maintain long-term strategic capital plan that includes equipment replacement and productivity improvement/cost savings.
• Coordinate, plan and develop contingency plans with the Center Leadership Team in order to minimize operational interruptions in the event of equipment breakdowns.
• Adhere to all Papa John’s International and PJ Food Service policies as stated in company manuals, training manuals or other written communications.
• Adhere to OSHA requirements for LOTO.

Education, Experience & Certifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• College degree or equivalent experience in industrial/food manufacturing preferred.
• 5+ years of experience managing maintenance in manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of local, state and federal regulations and audits required, i.e., USDA audits, HACCP, OSHA, etc.
• LEAN Manufacturing is a plus.
• P&L experience preferred.

COMPENSATION

$110,000-$130,000

Placement within the band is commensurate with experience, demonstrated reliability leadership capability, and P&L ownership depth.
