Job summary

PPG is seeking an Operations & Technical Leadership professional to oversee maintenance for plant equipment and facilities in Arkansas. The role drives reliability, safety, and cost control while leading a cross-functional maintenance team in a 24/7 environment.

You will develop strategies, lead root cause analyses, manage CMMS, and coordinate capital projects to maximize uptime, ensure compliance with PSM standards, and deliver measurable improvements in OEE and MTTR across the site.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field.
  • 5–10 years in maintenance with 3+ years in a leadership role (with education); or 10–15 years in maintenance with 5+ years in leadership (without education).
  • Technical knowledge on PLCs, CMMS, Boilers, Chillers, Cooling towers, Thermal oxidizers, Dust collection systems, Solvent recovery systems, Fire protection systems, Nitrogen systems, Bulk storage and transfer systems, electrical, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee all preventive and corrective maintenance activities for equipment, machinery, and facilities.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies to maximize uptime and minimize disruptions.
  • Lead root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement long-term corrective actions.
  • Utilize CMMS to manage preventive maintenance, work orders, asset history, inventory, and maintenance performance metrics.
  • Assist in developing a moving 3-year Maintenance, Facilities and Equipment plan.
  • Lead a team of supervisors, engineers, and maintenance technicians; recruit and mentor.
  • Schedule and coordinate maintenance staff to ensure 24/7 operational coverage where required.
  • Develop and manage the annual maintenance budget; oversee procurement of spare parts, tools, and contractor services.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising safety or performance.
  • Be actively engaged in Safety; lead by example and ensure compliance with both company and regulatory safety standards and requirements for facilities and equipment.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are compliant with Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements, including Management of Change (MOC), asset integrity, incident investigations, operating procedures, and participation in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) activities as required.
  • Champion a safety-first culture and enforce proper use of PPE and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
  • Implement reliability-centered maintenance programs and driving continuous improvement through maintenance KPIs, equipment performance metrics, and asset management strategies – OEE, MTTR, MTBF.
  • Drive Lean, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), or Six Sigma initiatives to improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams on capital improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities
Operations & Technical Leadership
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee allpreventive and corrective maintenanceactivities for equipment, machinery, and facilities.

  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and implement long-term corrective actions.
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to manage preventive maintenance, work orders, asset history, inventory, and maintenance performance metrics.
  • Assist in developing a moving 3-year Maintenance, Facilities and Equipment plan
Team Management
  • Ability to develop technical teams, build organizational capability, and foster a culture of accountability, safety, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and manage a team ofsupervisors, engineers, and maintenance technicians.
  • Schedule and coordinate maintenance staff to ensure 24/7 operational coverage where required.
Budget & Resource Management
  • Develop and manage theannual maintenance budget, controlling costs while maintaining quality.
  • Oversee procurement of spare parts, tools, and contractor services.
  • Identify opportunities forcost savingswithout compromising safety or performance.
Safety & Compliance

The salary for this position is $130,000 to $150,000.
