Qualifications

• 15+ years maintenance experience in mining or heavy industry.
• 10+ years supporting large-scale mineral processing facilities.
• 5+ years in a maintenance leadership/management role.
• Experience in planning, scheduling, shutdown management, reliability, and asset management.
• Experience with budgets, contractors, OEMs, and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of fixed plant assets: crushers, mills, conveyors, pumps, tailings.

Responsibilities

Job description

Seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager – Fixed Plant Equipment to support a major copper mining development in Arizona. This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing fixed plant maintenance activities across mineral processing facilities, ensuring the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of processing assets while supporting commissioning, startup, and long-term operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead fixed plant maintenance activities across crushing, grinding, flotation, filtration, tailings, water treatment, utilities, and supporting infrastructure
• Develop and implement maintenance management systems, work management processes, preventive, predictive and condition-based maintenance programs, and planning & scheduling strategies
• Lead maintenance readiness activities supporting project development, construction, commissioning, startup, and operational ramp-up
• Plan and manage major plant shutdowns, turnarounds, outages, and equipment rebuilds
• Establish reliability-centred maintenance strategies, asset health monitoring programs, root cause failure analysis (RCFA), and continuous improvement initiatives
• Develop long-term asset management, equipment lifecycle, and sustaining capital strategies
• Manage maintenance budgets, contractor performance, OEM relationships, service agreements, and cost control initiatives
• Build, mentor, and develop high-performing maintenance teams through recruitment, coaching, training, and succession planning
• Partner with Processing Operations, Metallurgy, Reliability, Engineering, Technical Services, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operational Readiness teams to maximise plant availability and performance
• Support maintenance planning, warehouse readiness, spare parts strategies, and inventory optimisation
• Support implementation and optimisation of SAP PM, CMMS systems, and maintenance business processes
• Participate in engineering design reviews to ensure maintainability, operability, accessibility, reliability, and safety are incorporated into new processing facilities
• Support sustaining capital planning, operational readiness assessments, technical reviews, and long-term maintenance strategies
• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements across maintenance operations
• Support emergency response planning, business continuity initiatives, and other operational requirements as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, or a related discipline
• Minimum 15 years of maintenance experience within mining or heavy industrial operations
• Minimum 10 years supporting large-scale mineral processing facilities
• Minimum 5 years in a maintenance leadership or management position
• Strong experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, shutdown management, reliability engineering, and asset management
• Experience managing maintenance budgets, contractors, OEMs, service providers, and multidisciplinary maintenance teams
• Strong understanding of fixed plant assets including crushers, mills, conveyors, pumps, flotation, filtration, utilities, and tailings systems
• Experience implementing preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance strategies
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Experience

• Copper mining and concentrator experience
• Greenfield mining project experience
• Commissioning, startup, and operational readiness experience
• Project management experience on large mining or mineral processing operations
• Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or equivalent reliability certification
• Experience implementing reliability-centred maintenance (RCM), TPM, FMEA, RCFA, or other continuous improvement methodologies
• Experience with SAP PM or equivalent enterprise maintenance management systems
