Job Location: Click Bond Watertown - Watertown, CT 06795

This position supports Click Bond’s Operations and, under minimal supervision, is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment, secondary equipment, facility equipment and the facility grounds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform highly diversified mechanical duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facilities equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Maintain and rebuild Baird and Waterbury Farrel presses, eyelet machines, and tool room equipment.
  • Utilizing the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), complete assigned repair work orders, preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, and projects.
  • Create work orders as necessary and maintain work calendar as necessary.
  • Collaborate with managers and other departments to define, develop and enhance processes and procedures.
  • Coordinate repairs and projects cross-functionally with managers.
  • Fabricate parts out of diverse types of material with or without the assistance of a print or drawing, by using milling machines, lathes, grinders, welders, shears, breaks, torches, presses, and other industrial equipment.
  • Read and interpret key documents including equipment logs, equipment documentation, blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Handling and utilizing compressed air and other gases safely and effectively.
  • Monitor and maintain spare parts inventory.
  • Work with engineering to create and edit prints for machine parts.
  • Work with outside vendors to collect estimates for parts and services as needed.
  • Provide mentorship for apprentices and co-workers.
  • Perform routine tests and qualifications on equipment and document findings and results.
  • When necessary be a point of contact for vendors.
  • General maintenance duties such as cleaning floors, removing garbage, unclogging drains.
  • Utilize basic plumbing and carpentry skills to perform repairs.
  • Safely and efficiently use rigging and lifting equipment as needed.
  • Operating a fork-lift as needed.
  • Operate wastewater treatment processes as needed.
  • Report immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
  • Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate Click Bond policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining clean, orderly, and hazard-free work areas.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and be detail oriented.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrate a mature, problem-solving approach when dealing with all levels of site personnel, vendors, and customers as well as the ability to cope with hazardous conditions and heavy time demands.
  • Must have carpentry, plumbing and rigging skills.
  • Capable of initiating and maintaining a plan of action, while exhibiting a high level of motivation, cooperation, and urgency.
  • Ability to confidently use hand/power tools.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical schematics.
  • Must possess mathematical skills including the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals in all units of measure.
  • Proficient computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and CMMS software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, responsibly, and foster effective working relationships in a team environment.
  • Ability to write and read English.
Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience required.
  • Computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) experience preferred.
  • Mig, tig & stick welding experience preferred.
  • State of Connecticut Machinist Journeymen’s card preferred.
  • Forklift operators certificate preferred.
Physical Demands
  • Occasionally works on ladder or lift platform of heights of 20 feet or more.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of physically awkward positions.
  • Frequently lift and/or move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Use of hand/fingers continuously through shift to manipulate components, tools, etc.
  • Will stand upright for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to walk while carrying tools and equipment.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
  • Regularly required to sit or stand for the length of shift, bend, and reach.
