Job summary

ColdStar manufactures equipment and seeks a Maintenance Technician to operate and maintain facility systems. You will install, troubleshoot, repair, and service machinery, read diagrams, manage parts, and assist operators to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities

  • In the morning, turn on lights, power, compressor, and dryer per SOP.
  • End of day shutdown of lights, power, compressor, and dryer per SOP.
  • Keep shop machines properly maintained (cleaned, lubricated, organized).
  • Complete required shop forms and paperwork (requisitions, project parts list).
  • Read Electrical and Pneumatic diagrams to speed repairs.
  • Troubleshoot production machine issues quickly.
  • Install facility machinery.
  • Learn ColdStar product language and how each machine is set up and operated.
  • Coordinate with a 3rd party to ensure proper tolerances and specs when making parts/tools.
  • Continuously improve facility efficiency through fabrication and automation.
  • Learn how machinery operates via manuals, OEMs, and service technicians.
  • Maintain communication with operators to ensure wear parts are in stock.
  • Familiarize with product line to meet daily production quotas.
  • Perform weekly, monthly, and annual preventive maintenance.
  • Write and maintain SOPs and JSAs (Job Safety Analyses).
  • Program, install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain PLCs, frequency drives, servo motors/drives, and related software.
  • Communicate with operators when troubleshooting/maintenance is needed beyond their skills.
  • Maintain and secure shop tools and the shop area.
  • Follow LOTO, cord inspection, ladder training, and fall protection guidelines.
  • Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
  • Organize, inventory, research products/parts, get quotes, and order parts/tools for the shop.
  • Fill out requisitions for tools/parts to be ordered.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Assisting the machine operators with machine issues as needed.

Primary Responsibilities
  • In the morning, turn on lights, power, compressor, and dryer according to standard operating procedures (SOP). (See morning check list)
  • At the end of the production day, turn off lights, power, compressor, and dryer according to standard operating procedures (SOP). (See end of day list)
  • Keep shop machines properly maintained (cleaned, lubricated, and organized)
  • Complete all required shop forms and paperwork. (Requisitions, Project parts list)
  • Read Electrical and Pneumatic diagrams to help speed the repair of equipment if it malfunctions.
  • Troubleshoot production machine issues quickly.
  • Install facility machinery.
  • Responsible for reading, learning, and understanding the ColdStar product language, learning how each product is set up on each production machine, and learning how to efficiently operate each production machine to produce good quality product when needing to stand in for a machine operator.
  • Responsible for working with a 3rd party to ensure proper tolerances and specifications are followed when making a part/tool.
  • Responsible to continuously improve all aspects of the ColdStar facility and increase efficiency through fabrication and automation.
  • Learn and understand how each piece of machinery operates by use of manuals, experience, OEM, and resources/service technicians.
  • Maintain good communication with the machine operators to ensure there is an ample quantity of wear parts and spare parts in stock so there is never a halt in production. When parts are needed, they must be ordered promptly.
  • Familiarize yourself with the complete product line and understand how the machines need to be maintenance for the machine operators to be able to meet and improve on daily production quotas.
  • Perform weekly, monthly, and annual preventative maintenance on all facility machinery. (Books. Misc. Maintenance)
  • Write and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
  • Program, install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain all facility PLC's, frequency drives, servo motors/drives, machine computers, and all software pertaining to these.
  • Communicate with machine operators when they need troubleshooting/maintenance/fabrication assistance that is above the machine operators abilities.
  • Maintain and secure work tools in the shop area.
  • Clean and maintain shop area.
  • Follow ColdStars guidelines/standards for Lock-Out / Tag-Out (LOTO), Electrical Cord Inspection, Ladder Training and Inspection, and Fall Protection.
  • Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
  • Organize, inventory, research products/parts, get quotes on parts/tools, and order parts/tools for the shop.
  • Fill out a requisition for tools/parts that need to be ordered.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform backup assistance to machine operators when the issue is beyond the operators skill set.
  • Provide on-the-job training to new employees.
  • Organize, inventory, research products/parts, get quotes on parts/tools, and order parts/tools.
  • Will be responsible for general building maintenance; plumbing, painting, electrical and mechanical utilities.

  • Works closely with machine operators and assistants
  • Initiates and maintains positive, successful relationships with all coworkers, vendors, and providers
