WORK SHIFT: First Shift (United States of America)

Job Description

This position reports to the maintenance shift supervisor. The lube technician will maintain the lube levels in all the production equipment, report any water/oil leaks, keep areas clean and dry, and free of oil and debris for safety. Service filters on the loading equipment and transfer accumulated oil/water containers to designated holding areas.

Essential Job Functions
  • Visually and manually inspect production equipment for low levels of oil and grease on all machines daily.
  • Add the required amount of oil or grease to production equipment as needed daily.
  • Keep the areas around the production equipment clean, dry, and free of oil and debris for safety daily.
  • Report any oil, water, or air leaks to the maintenance shift supervisor for repair.
  • Label and maintain waste drums and transfer accumulated oil/water drums to designated holding areas daily.
  • Service filters for production equipment as directed by the maintenance shift supervisor.
  • Maintain, clean, and wipe down all lubrication equipment daily.
  • Maintain required quantities of grease and oil reserves, reorder as needed.
  • Support the maintenance department with small repairs and services daily and on weekends when needed.
  • Maintain reliable and consistent attendance, being punctual and dependable.
  • Execute each essential duty satisfactorily to perform the job successfully.
  • Follow all safety procedures required in the work area, wear PPE, attend safety meetings, and report safety issues regarding equipment or hazardous conditions.
  • Perform effectively as a team member, work well with others, be open to receive and give feedback, and treat everyone with respect.
  • Takes ownership of own work and behavior, accepts accountability for own actions, encourages solutions, and communicates status of work/projects.
  • Follow all department quality standards/criteria.
  • Raise concerns and issues to the immediate manager.
  • Understand and demonstrate the company culture and core values (Safety, Quality, Respect, and Service).
  • Understand department's key performance indicators and contribute to achieve these goals individually and as a team.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Language skills: English (bilingual desirable).
  • Mathematical skills: Proficient in basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Reasoning ability: Able to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of written or verbal instructions.
  • Communication: Both verbal and written, ability to use email, maintenance software, and face-to-face communication.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registration: Valid California driver’s license and ability to qualify for a forklift license.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One to two years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of oils and grease.
  • Language skills: Able to communicate effectively in English.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Forklift and Scissor Lift.
Physical Demands
  • Sitting, walking, standing, bending at the neck and waist, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting at neck and waist, repetitive use of hands, simple grasping, power grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling, reaching above and below shoulder, carrying/lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Working around equipment and machinery.
  • Exposure to excessive noise.
  • Dust, gas, fumes, or chemicals.
  • Working at heights.
  • Use of special visual or auditory protective equipment.
  • Operation of foot controls or repetitive foot movement.
  • PPE.
Safety Requirements
  • Safety glasses.
  • Utility gloves.
  • Steel‑toe slip‑resistant shoes.
  • Hardhat.
  • Hearing protection (ear plugs, ear muffs).
  • Face shields.
  • Face covering (mask) in accordance with company policy.
Compensation

Salary range: $18.58 – $19.50 per hour. Salary may vary based on experience.
