Job summary

Metal Finishing Technologies, LLC is seeking a skilled maintenance lead technician to perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting and preventative maintenance in our Bristol, CT facility. You will work across electrical, plumbing, HVAC and mechanical systems, coordinating repairs with a focus on safety and reliability.

The role requires 5+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience, and the ability to lift 50 lbs, adapt to change, and work with outside vendors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree within industrial maintenance preferred.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Electrical, HVAC, plumbing & heating, carpentry, etc.
• Manufacturing/Industrial experience required.
• Industrial plumbing experience beneficial

Responsibilities

• Ensure repairs are performed safely with defined plans and expectations.
• Assist in maintaining equipment including piping, pumps, boilers, compressors, HVAC, lighting, and facilities.
• Assist in reconstructing lines and installing new equipment.
• Prioritize and monitor daily work orders and project assignments for maintenance staff and vendors.
• Develop routine preventative maintenance to reduce emergency breakdowns.
• Delegate work and ensure quality maintenance by staff.
• Perform electrical conduit work: measuring, cutting, bending, threading, installing.
• Perform pipe work: measuring, cutting, bending, threading, installing.
• Operate welding equipment within codes.
• Inspect areas for repairs and report to supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.

MFT is seeking a skilled, hands-on, experienced maintenance lead technician to perform routine maintenance functions, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance within the facility. The candidate will have working knowledge within plumbing, mechanical and electrical.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree within industrial maintenance preferred.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in one or more of the major trades, i.e.Electrical, HVAC, plumbing & heating, carpentry, etc.
• Manufacturing/Industrial experience required.
• Industrial plumbing experience beneficial
• Must be reliable and dependable
• Must be adaptable to change
• Must be able to lift and move at least 50lbs

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure that all repairs are being done in a safe manner, using clear and defined plans and expectations prior to the start of any repair or project.
• Assists in maintaining equipment, including but not limited to: piping, pumps, steam boilers, air compressors, ventilation and scrubbing units, HVAC system, lighting, building and grounds.
• Assists in the reconstruction of lines, including but not limited to: dismantling tank set up and installation of new equipment
• Prioritizes, distributes, monitors, and reviews daily work orders, project assignments, and completion dates as it pertains to the maintenance department staff and outside vendors.
• Assists in maintaining department scheduling of maintenance staff
• Assists in the development of routine maintenance (preventative maintenance) in an effort to reduce or eliminate emergency breakdowns of the machines and their components.
• Reviews maintenance requests. Prioritizes and schedules general repairs and maintenanceof equipment.
• Assist in delegating work assignments to maintenance personnel. Ensures quality maintenance work is put forth by maintenance personnel.
• Perform work on electrical conduitincluding measuring, cutting, bending, threading, assembling, and installing.
• Perform work on pipesincluding measuring, cutting, bending, threading, assembling, and installing.
• Operate welding equipment within codes
• Repairs faulty equipment and/or systems
• Realign and adjust components such as spindles, gears, and shafts.
• Inspects surrounding areas while performing maintenance work for items in need of repair or replacement and reports these items to the supervisor.
• Performs assigned tasks within a timely manner.
• Other duties as assigned.
