Systems Application & Technologies, Inc. (SA-TECH) is hiring a Maintenance Manager at the National Training Center (NTC) in Fort Irwin, CA. The role requires extensive experience leading maintenance for diesel, RF, electrical, and mechanical systems within a high-demand DoD environment.

You will oversee daily operations, mentor staff, and ensure safety, documentation, and parts sourcing are up to standard. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with competitive, site-based pay.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of maintenance supervisor/lead/planner experience.
• Three+ years of RF maintenance and repair experience.
• Ten+ years of electrical & mechanical system maintenance and repair experience.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Radar operation experience is required.
• Able to obtain a Class B license and maintain a driver’s license.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily maintenance operations.
• Supervise mechanics maintaining diesel equipment, generators, and vehicles.
• Manage maintenance facility and tool/equipment accountability.
• Ensure safety standards are enforced in the facility.
• Train and mentor maintenance personnel.

SA-TECH is seeking to hire an experienced Maintenance Manager at the NTC at Fort Irwin, CA with expertise in military and commercial vehicle maintenance operations.

Candidates should be highly organized, adaptive, and ready to thrive in a high operational work environment. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.

Specific Duties

• Lead and oversee daily maintenance operations.
• Supervise mechanics conducting maintenance on diesel equipment, including diesel generators, military, and commercial vehicles.
• Manage our maintenance facility, ensuring proper accountability of all tools and equipment.
• Ensure maintenance facility is safe by enforcing applicable safety standards.
• Responsible for training and mentoring maintenance personnel.
• Maintain a high equipment-uptime through continuous preventative maintenance before, during, and after equipment operations.
• Monitor and report equipment status, build PM schedule, track services and ensure proper documentation of completed work.
• Research and source maintenance parts for repairs.
• Coordinate specialty support from vendors.
• Enforce company policies and ensure employee compliance.

Work Conditions

Work will be both inside and outside, throughout the year in an austere environment with fluctuating temperatures.

• Work requires standing, walking, sitting, reaching, and lifting.
• Work involves occasionally lifting objects weighing between 50-100 pounds as part of a two-person team.
• Shift work is required and hours may change based on mission requirements.
• Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed, to support the customer/mission.
• You must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.

Requirements Education/Experience/Skills

High School diploma or equivalent.

• Five+ (5+) years of maintenance supervisor/ maintenance lead/ maintenance planner experience.
• Three+ (3+) years of maintenance of RF maintenance and repair experience.
• Ten (10+) years of electrical & mechanical system maintenance and repair experience.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
• Radar operation experience required.
• Working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite of software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Ability to obtain a Class B license.
• Current Driver’s License required; must be able to be insured through company’s vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
• U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to hire date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.
• All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
