The Position

Lead Maintenance Technicians through coaching & development of technical competencies on shift in support of successful execution of maintenance schedules & processes.

Relationships

Reports to Manager, Maintenance Execution.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for coordinating daily schedule, removing barriers, & enabling maintenance team to execute optimally
  • Participate in cross-functional stakeholder meetings providing maintenance SME level input
  • Provide input on Maintenance Technician performance to managers in relation to eligibility for promotion & annual performance cycle
  • Coach & mentor technical competencies for maintenance technicians
  • Execute process confirmation of standards used on shift & work with maintenance team to identify opportunities for improvements in safety, quality, & compliance
  • Serve as primary contact for breakdown escalations:
    • Convert notifications to work orders
    • Assign technicians to respond to breakdown calls
    • Start work permits
    • Assign relevant parts
  • Manage the maintenance execution schedule in relevant system(s)
  • Review work orders prepared by maintenance technicians to ensure compliance, that work was performed in adherence to SOPs & approve completion of work order (TECO)
  • Coach maintenance technicians to ensure they are ability to properly document in SAP & logbooks
  • Collaborates with production managers, engineers & other team members for prioritization of work orders
  • Observes & enforces all safety & environmental requirements
  • Other accountabilities, as assigned

Physical Requirements

Moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. Routinely operates & inspects manufacturing equipment using hands. Ability to be on feet for up to a 12-hour shift. May require corrected vision to 20/25 based on role. May require color vision based on role. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder. May be required to work at elevated heights. Occasionally works around odorous &/or hazardous materials. May be required to wear latex gloves. Occasionally performs critical job functions in extremely cold work environments. Occasionally positions oneself within confined spaces for inspection, repair & maintenance of equipment. Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection. Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. Able to pass a driving exam for powered industrial trucks. Does not require a valid drivers license.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in technical field or equivalent combination of education & experience required
  • Minimum of five (5) years maintenance experience in manufacturing or equivalent industry / military experience required
  • Minimum of three (3) years leadership experience preferred
  • Knowledge & experience in the maintenance of utility & process equipment, as well as working in a regulated environment (FDA, cGMP, OSHA) preferred
  • Experience driving process improvements/design using systematic methodologies preferred
  • Lean & Six Sigma strongly preferred preferred
  • Proven expertise in mentoring/development, change management, planning/organizing, managing execution, & revising the work plan for complex problems solved by cross functional teams preferred
