Position Overview:

The Maintenance Lead is the highest hourly position within the Maintenance department. This role involves mentoring mechanics, managing complex tasks and projects, and overseeing the performance of the maintenance team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Adhere to all safety, food safety, and environmental regulations and policies.
2. Work 2nd shift (3 PM - 11:30 PM) with flexibility for schedule changes.
3. Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
4. Maintain qualifications for the Maintenance Lead role.
5. Supervise maintenance crew and contractors.
6. Train maintenance staff across all areas.
7. Manage hot work/line break and LOTO permits.
8. Promote discipline and accountability within the team.
9. Collaborate with engineering and production to improve equipment performance.
10. Implement Facility Response and Evacuation Plans.
11. Support environmental programs and approve overtime requests.
12. Facilitate safety programs like Job Cycle Checks and Job Safety Analysis.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or GED; technical training or certifications preferred.

Experience: Food/beverage packaging or industrial experience; expertise in pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, power transmissions, lubrication, mechanical and electrical principles.

Skills: Extensive experience with PLC/automation systems; proficiency with CMMS; forklift certification.

Physical & Sensory Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, work in various environments, and wear a respirator. Capable of quick analysis and troubleshooting.
