Job Description

Job Purpose: This position will have the responsibility for assisting the Maintenance Safety Manager with vendors and RJW Transport contract mechanics, in addition to maintaining all company equipment, including tractors, trailers, forklifts, etc. This position will report to the shift supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Strong attention to detail, organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
• Superior customer service skills, including the ability to manage difficult customers and/or situations.
• Professional verbal and written communication.
• Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
• General computer knowledge.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to be on-call for responding to after-hour emergencies.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Additional Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

• Maintenance: 2 years
• Plumbing: 2 years
• Electrical: 2 years
• Appliance repairs: 2 years
• Valid Illinois driver’s license.

Education and/or Experience Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
