Job summary

Eaton’s IS AER FMC division seeks a Maintenance Lead for 1st shift at our Irvine, CA site. Core hours are 5:30am–2:00pm, Monday–Friday, with overtime.

The role coordinates building, grounds and equipment maintenance, uses QAD for scheduling, and drives safety and reliability across CNC and facility systems. You will manage PM programs, vendor coordination, and CapEx support while ensuring regulatory compliance and a safe work environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 5 years in troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of CNC equipment and electrical/mechanical systems.
• Must reside within 50 miles of Jackson, MS (as stated) to be considered.
• Must comply with export regulations and be a U.S. person.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute maintenance of building, grounds, and equipment to support operations.
• Schedule reactive and preventative maintenance using QAD.
• Lead and review maintenance staff work; drive Eaton safety culture.
• Manage CNC equipment PM program: scheduling, repairs, uptime, vendor support.
• Oversee Pressure Test equipment PM: scheduling, calibration, compliance.
• Lead maintenance, repair, and reliability of facility systems and production support equipment.
• Develop and improve preventive maintenance programs using QAD.
• Manage PM contracts, service providers, and contractors.
• Act as primary site contact for emergencies, security, fire protection, and outages.
• Conduct facility inspections for safety, environmental, waste, and equipment compliance.
• Oversee hazardous waste handling and coordination with Hazardous Waste Managers.
• Lead site compliance and continuous improvement initiatives (LOTO, safety, waste, etc.).
• Coordinate CapEx projects and infrastructure upgrades from planning to implementation.
• Manage maintenance department budget and monthly project expenses.
• Lead weekly Tier 2 meetings and drive corrective actions.
• Promote safe work environment and ongoing maintenance improvements.
• Perform other duties to support facility objectives.

Schedule using QAD all reactive and preventative maintenance activities at the site. Review work of maintenance staff to ensure work is appropriately carried out. Drive the Eaton safety culture within the maintenance department.In this function you will:• Manage the CNC equipment preventive maintenance program, including scheduling, tracking, coordination of repairs, vendor support, and ensuring equipment reliability and uptime.• Manage the Pressure Test equipment preventive maintenance program, including preventive maintenance scheduling, calibration coordination, compliance documentation, and equipment performance monitoring.• Lead the maintenance, repair, and reliability of facility systems and production support equipment, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, air compressors, and other site infrastructure.• Develop, manage, and continuously improve preventive maintenance programs using QAD, ensuring timely completion of work orders, equipment uptime, calibration requirements, and regulatory compliance.• Manage preventive maintenance contracts, service providers, and contractors, including scheduling, performance monitoring, scope development, and obtaining quotations for maintenance and capital projects• Serve as the primary site contact for facility-related emergencies, security systems, fire protection systems, utility interruptions, and after-hours building support.• Conduct and oversee facility inspections, including safety, environmental, hazardous waste, utility, and equipment inspections, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.• Manage hazardous waste handling activities, including drum movement, accumulation area inspections, labeling, emergency response, and coordination with Hazardous Waste Managers.• Lead site compliance programs and continuous improvement initiatives, including Energy Control (LOTO), Contractor Safety, Waste Management, Fall Protection, and MESH requirements.• Coordinate and support capital expenditure (CapEx) projects, facility upgrades, and infrastructure improvements from planning through implementation.• Manage maintenance department budget and monthly expense reports for all site wide projects.• Lead weekly Tier 2 meetings, drive corrective actions, and ensure timely resolution of safety observations and facility-related issues.• Promote a safe work environment through proper equipment use, employee engagement, preventive maintenance practices, and continuous improvement activities• Perform other duties as assigned in support of facility, maintenance, and operational objectives.Qualifications:Required Qualifications:• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of CNC equipment, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical maintenance and repair.• This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158.• Must reside within a 50 mile radius of Jackson, MS to be considered. Active Duty military are exempt from the geographical requirementPreferred:• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a foreman / lead in maintenance preferred.• Experience with the engineering of power distribution systems from 600V on down, motor control, VFD’s, lighting, grounding, and lightning protection.• Experience in performing power system analysis, short circuit and load flow studies.
