Job summary

Daikin Comfort is seeking a Maintenance Lead to oversee repair, maintenance and improvement of plant equipment and facilities. You will assign tasks, ensure technicians have tools and materials, respond to breakdowns, and uphold safety standards.

The role requires 7+ years in industrial maintenance, strong electrical/mechanical troubleshooting, CMMS experience, and ability to lead projects. You will coordinate with supervisors and drive reliability initiatives to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Associate’s degree in electrical or mechanical field or graduation from a trade school, any certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
• Must be able to read and understand written and verbal policy, instruction and directions in English.
• Must have experience using a CMMS.

Responsibilities

• Eliminate all causes of failure and ensure full useful life in coordination with daily maintenance by operating personnel.
• Provides technical and problem-solving support for the plant and maintenance crews; lead major breakdown analyses.
• Leads activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment.
• Supports and executes plant maintenance strategies to achieve KPIs for maintenance performance.
• Assures production schedules are met and issues are resolved and communicated promptly; inspects equipment against standards.
• Manage Fiix CMMS including PMs, audits, equipment, purchase orders, work orders and histories.
• Perform duties as plant SME, Safety Management Expert for Hot Works, Fall Protection and Confined Space programs.
• Drives a Safety culture and follows a 'Never Walk By' safety policy.

Job description

The Maintenance Lead repairs, maintains and rebuilds machines, as well as the overall facility as needed. Performs preventative maintenance duties as assigned and responds to breakdowns in a professional and timely manner. Responsible for task assignment and ensuring the team of maintenance personnel has proper tools and materials to complete tasks and safety huddles. Advises supervisor/manager of any issues pertaining to operation of machinery and equipment. Respond to maintenance issues in a professional and timely manner. Assist with all aspects of facility maintenance.

Position Responsibilities May Include

• Eliminating all causes of failure and ensuring full useful life in coordination with daily maintenance completed by operating personnel
• Provides technical and problem-solving support for the plant and maintenance crews. Lead and support RCA, major breakdown analysis, reliability investigations
• Leads activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment
• Supports and executes plant-specific maintenance strategies to achieve Plant's key performance goals for overall maintenance performance
• Assures production schedules are met and all issues are resolved and communicated in a timely fashion. Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards
• Reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities
• Help manage department Fiix system, including PMs, PM audits, equipment, purchase orders, work order, work order histories, and employee time
• Perform duties as plant SME, Safety Management Expert, for Hot Works Program, Fall Protection Program and Confined Space Program
• Drives a Safety Culture. Helps lead the plant’s safety first culture. Follows a “Never Walk By” safety policy
• Support Daikin’s OPM/Lean continuous improvement and Autonomous Maintenance programs
• Lead, oversee, and delegate work orders and any maintenance projects that arise
• Perform preventative maintenance (PM) activities
• Install, service, repair, inspect, and program all electrical, programmable, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
• Order parts and supplies as needed
• Respond to emergency calls on all shifts
• Report any injury, unsafe act or condition, equipment failure, or potential failure
• Train and provide direction to employees within the department \\
• Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs

• Resolves routine questions and problems, coordinates complex issues to others

Knowledge & Skills

• Safe work habits, following proper LOTO and other OSHA requirements
• “Advanced” skills in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair (At minimum Technician Level 2 skills in mechanical and electrical)
• Must have own maintenance tools, including 480-volt and 3-phase electric voltmeter, and able to use
• Able to effectively and efficiently use various maintenance tools and equipment
• Ability to work with electrical circuits including 24-volt controls, 120-240 volt, single- and three-phase service
• Capable of using programmable logic controllers to troubleshoot and repair equipment
• Ability to work under pressure and ability to synthesize complex or diverse information
• Must be able to read and understand written and verbal policy, instruction and directions in, English
• Basic ability to use Windows based computer systems
• Working knowledge of PLC, I/O Logic, AC/DC drives
• Must have experience the use of computer systems, excel, word, outlook
• Must have experience using a CMMS (computerized maintenance management system)

Competency

Experience:

• 7+ years of experience in industrial maintenance
• 5 years of experience with DC drives, servos, solenoids, photo eyes, relays, limit switches, and electric motors
• 7 years of experience with Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems

Education/Certification

• High school diploma or GED
• Associate’s degree in electrical or mechanical field or graduation from a trade school, any certifications are preferred but not mandatory
