Job summary

E Energy Adams is seeking a Maintenance Lead to guide the Maintenance Technicians in PM, troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance to maximize plant performance. The role focuses on mechanics, piping, welding, and hydraulics, while supporting safety programs and company policies on site.

You will work with the Maintenance Supervisor to assign daily tasks, ensure timely work orders, and drive a safe, efficient, and compliant plant environment.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED required.
• Technical degree or certification in related mechanical field preferred.
• 5+ years of maintenance operations experience in industrial or process maintenance, preferably in ethanol.
• Expertise in mechanical, piping, welding, and hydraulics.
• Detail-oriented with strong communication, organizational, time-management, and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Maintenance Supervisor on maintenance personnel daily/weekly work assignments.
• Removes roadblocks to allow Technicians to execute on work orders.
• Leads Technicians to engage on planning work orders as appropriate.
• Actively engages in being in the know on work order performance; audits work orders completed.
• Lead Technicians to maintain facilities and grounds in a clean, well-kept, efficient operation.
• Assist Maintenance Manager with control of parts inventory.
• Promote E Energy Adams in the community.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Lead helps the Maintenance Supervisor lead maintenance activities including preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing plant equipment and systems to ensure maximum plant performance. The Maintenance Lead is the on the ground lead that helps keep Maintenance Technicians actively engaged. The Maintenance Lead must demonstrate a strong proficiency in mechanics, piping, welding, and hydraulics. The Maintenance Lead supports plant safety programs and policies. The Maintenance Lead will support all company policies, goals, and objectives and represent the company in a knowledgeable and professional manner.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

People and Teamwork

• Coordinate with Maintenance Supervisor on maintenance personnel daily/weekly work assignments.
• Removes roadblocks to allow Technicians to execute on work orders
• Leads Technicians to engage on planning work orders as appropriate
• Actively engaged in being in the know on work order performance. Physically audits all work orders completed or as many as possible.
• Lead Technicians to maintain facilities and grounds in a clean, well-kept, and efficient operating manner.
• Off hours, takes phone calls from Technicians and comes on-site as needed
• Maintain a high level of service and work performance, promote a team environment, and maintain a pleasant work environment.
• Assist Maintenance Manager with control of parts inventory.
• Promote E Energy Adams in the community.

Problem Solving

• Perform expert troubleshooting, installation, routine maintenance, and repair of mechanical manufacturing equipment.
• Diligently seeks root cause. Utilizes Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).

Skills

• Has the ability to perform essential job functions outside of normal working hours.
• Responsible for mechanical piping within the plant.
• Demonstrate proficiency of welding principles associated with stick, TIG, and MIG welding.
• Responsible for reading and understanding mechanical and piping prints.
• Responsible for hydraulic operations and equipment.
• Demonstrate personal computer skills and use of mechanical programs.
• Perform rotating machine alignment.
• Basic working knowledge of electrical and instrumentation or ability to gain that knowledge
• Possess project management skills. Participate in plant projects when needed.

Regulatory

• Assist in the development and implementation of safety programs. Carry out department and company safety policies and procedures at all times.
• Responsible for awareness and implementation of all local, state, and federal regulations as they apply to the maintenance department.
• Maintain confidentiality of all records and company matters.

Support Maintenance Supervisor

• Complete all tasks assigned by Maintenance Supervisor.
• Backs up the Maintenance Supervisor. Coordinates and directs supervision of maintenance personnel when the Maintenance Supervisor is absent.
• Assists Maintenance Supervisor with performance appraisals, accountability, and discipline as needed.
• Other duties not listed herein but need to be accomplished to maintain safe and timely day-to-day operations of the plant.

Minimum Requirements

• High school graduate or GED required
  • Technical degree or certification in related mechanical field preferred
• 5 or more years of experience in maintenance operations
  • In industrial or process maintenance required, preferably in the ethanol industry
• Expertise in mechanical, piping, welding, and hydraulics
• Detail-oriented with strong communication, organizational, time-management, and troubleshooting skills.

Abilities Required

• Work rotating on-call schedule during weekends and holidays
• This position requires walking, standing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, seeing, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
• Ability to ascend and descend stairs and ladders up to 200 feet.
• Ability to work while standing on a continuous basis.Ability to enter confined spaces.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
• Must be willing to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances.
• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection.
• Ability to communicate by using and hearing a 2-way radio system.
• Ability to respond to and support emergency issues on a 24/7 basis during the assigned stand‑by week and work outside of normally scheduled hours as needed.
