Job summary

Refresco Beverages US, Inc. in Lakeland, FL seeks an experienced Maintenance Technician (Electrician/Millwright) to support production lines in a fast-paced beverage facility.

Strong electrical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and safety compliance are required to minimize downtime. You will work night shift 5:00 PM–5:30 AM, perform complex maintenance, coordinate with electricians and mechanics, and participate in continuous improvement projects while adhering to GMPs and quality

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Electrician or Millwright (Dual Ticket - Electrician/Millwright an asset).
  • 3-5 years production/line machine maintenance experience required.
  • Line maintenance within a food and beverage production environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures and wear PPE in warehouse/production areas.
  • Perform complex corrective and preventative maintenance.
  • Ensure equipment upgrades comply with Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Minimize downtime by scheduling preventive maintenance and ensuring parts availability.
  • Assist in training and coordinate with Parts Coordinator.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement projects and support with technical expertise.

Nightshift: 5:00 PM to 5:30 AM

Essential Job Functions:
  • Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the warehouse or production areas (including but not limited to hairnets/beard nets, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe boots and seatbelts while operating forklifts)
  • Responsible to adhere to food quality and food safety as per quality standards and/or Safe Quality Food requirements.
  • Follows department plans and performs complex corrective and preventative maintenance requiring a thorough knowledge of mechanical theories and principles.
  • Assist in ensuring all upgrades for equipment are compliant with Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Minimize down time ensuring replacement/spare parts are available through proper preventative maintenance management by adhering to manufacturer’s guidelines.
  • Assist in scheduling maintenance personnel to cover production line maintenance needs.
  • Contributes to measurable improvements in scheduled, unscheduled and break down maintenance related down time and the costs associated with these events to contribute to CPC (cost per case) goals for each plant and shares best practices across and within the enterprise.
  • Review daily preventative maintenance (PM) sheets and assist in ensuring work is being completed.
  • Review any changes made to production line and make necessary changes to work orders.
  • Coordinate and address equipment failure in a timely manner, in order to minimize the downtime.
  • Support Electricians and Mechanics with machine issues on the production floor.
  • Assist in training of Electricians/Mechanics on production equipment and maintain Lockout/Tag out Program.
  • Coordinate parts requirement with Parts Coordinator.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Projects, and support initiatives with technical expertise.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Required Skills:
  • Thorough technical knowledge in the field of industrial maintenance, including relevant regulations, standards and codes.
  • Understanding of maintenance practices.
  • Objective judgment and fact-based decision-making approach.
  • Initiate the escalation process when downtime exceeds plant targets and issue is unresolved.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement projects, and support initiatives with technical expertise.
  • Proficient in SAP.
  • Multi-Tasking Ability: Skilled at managing multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and efficiency.
  • Proactive and Self-Motivated Problem Solver: Takes initiative to identify and resolve issues independently, making decisive choices and managing tasks effectively without supervision.
  • Customer-Focused Adaptability: Prioritizes internal customer needs and adapts to the dynamic demands of the business.
  • Communication: Clear and concise communication with production staff and management.
  • Problem-Solving Skills – ability to troubleshoot machinery and production issues efficiently, collaborating with others to resolve complex issues, adaptability to changing circumstances and willingness to implement new procedures.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing production environments and requirements.
Education and Experience:
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Electrician or Millwright (Dual Ticket - Electrician/Millwright an asset).

Working Conditions:
  • Work Schedule: Weekdays, weekends, afternoon, evenings and overnight may be required. Overtime scheduled as needed.
  • Work Environment: Operating in a fast-paced production plant with numerous moving parts. Noise levels require hearing protection and temperatures can get very hot and/or relatively cold. The environment is structured and supervised.
