• Excellent communication and a customer-service mindset when interacting with residents, team members, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day maintenance operations of a multifamily community.
• Coordinate, assign, and perform routine and emergency maintenance tasks; inspect and repair building systems, units, grounds, and common areas.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues; manage and track work orders; ensure preventive maintenance schedules.
• Coordinate vendors, manage inventory of supplies/equipment, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
• Provide guidance to maintenance team members, support onboarding and training, and collaborate with property management to deliver a high-quality resident experience.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies.

Role Description The Maintenance Lead is a full-time, on-site role based in Austin, TX, responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day maintenance operations of a multifamily residential community. This role coordinates, assigns, and performs routine and emergency maintenance tasks, including inspection, repair, and upkeep of building systems, apartment units, grounds, and common areas. The Maintenance Lead troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues, manages work orders, and ensures that preventive maintenance schedules are followed to maintain safety, comfort, and appearance standards. This position also supports vendor coordination, inventory management for supplies and equipment, and compliance with property, safety, and regulatory requirements. The Maintenance Lead provides guidance to maintenance team members, supports onboarding and training, and collaborates closely with the property management team to deliver a high‑quality resident experience.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Maintenance & Repair and general Maintenance for multifamily or similar residential properties.
• Candidates should possess skills in Equipment Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance to ensure reliable operation of building systems and amenities.
• Candidates should possess solid Troubleshooting abilities for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and appliance issues.
• Experience leading or mentoring maintenance teams, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage work orders efficiently.
