Job summary

International Paper in Pensacola is seeking a Maintenance Journeyman Level 3 Electrical/Instrumentation to support PLCs, field instruments, and control systems at the Cantonment site. You will work with journeymen and perform hands-on diagnostics, calibration and preventive maintenance.

This role requires flexibility for rotating shifts, overtime, and adherence to safety protocols. The company provides a robust training program to advance your career within IP's global manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of instrumentation and electrical systems experience.
• Willing to undergo online testing, interview and hands-on assessment.
• Eligible to work in the US and meet safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, configure and maintain PLC systems and loop controls.
• Read/interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs and wiring diagrams.
• Calibrate and service field instruments and control components.
• Maintain NFPA70E safety compliance and wear PPE as required.

Pay Rate: $44.44/hr.

Hourly Full-Time

• Days (7am-3:30pm – Monday-Friday)
• 4 Day Shifts (6 a.m. – 6 p.m.) --- 7 days off
• 4 Night Shifts (6 p.m. – 6 a.m.) --- 3 days off
• 3 Day Shifts (6 a.m. – 6 p.m.) --- 1 day off
• 3 Night Shifts (6 p.m. – 6 a.m.) --- 3 days off

Job Requirements

• At least 18 years of age
• Minimum high school graduate, GED, or equivalent work experience
• Eligible for employment in the US

AND The Following

• At least three (3) years of work experience in INSTRUMENTATION AND ELECTRICAL systems
• Must be willing to meet the following requirements:
• Work in industrial conditions (may be warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals, noise, heavy machinery, elevated working surfaces, and confined spaces (with proper safety training and safety protection)
• Undergo technical online testing, interview, and a formal hands-on assessment of skills
• Undergo a drug screen for illicit use of drugs as a condition of employment
• Undergo a job-related health assessment as a condition of employment
• Submit to periodic drug screens as a condition of employment
• Work any shift and/or a rotating shift schedule
• Work overtime on a regular basis and with last minute notification
• Work holidays and/or weekends on a regular basis
• Wear required safety equipment

It is preferred that candidates have the following skills and/or experience(s):

• Associates degree and/or certification(s) in Industrial Maintenance or other related disciplines within instrumentation/electrical.
• At least five (5) years of work experience in INSTRUMENTATION AND ELECTRICAL systems
• Relevant work experience in an industrial environment.

The Job You Will Perform

This position will work alongside journeymen-level Electrical/Instrumentation maintenance technicians in routine maintenance work as well as performing many duties independently. Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To

Instrumentation

• Troubleshoot, configure, maintain:
• PLC systems
• Single loop controls for various field systems
• Instillation, calibration, troubleshooting various manufactures of analog and SMART instruments and analytical equipment
• Shop and field repair of final control elements such as pneumatic valves, electric valves, solenoid operated valves, calibration of pneumatic and SMART valve positioners
• Reading and interpreting electrical schematics
• Routine and regulatory calibration of field instruments for boilers and environmental systems
• Troubleshoot, maintain pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Read and redline loop sheets, P&IDs
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams & electrical schematics
• Understand and follow NFPA70E regulations involving Arc Flash and Shock hazards
• Calibration and maintaining control instrumentation
• Other duties as assigned

Electrician

• Troubleshoot, install, repair AC and DC drive systems as well as stand-alone process drives of various manufacturers
• Troubleshoot, install, maintain various electrical components such as mechanical limit, proximity, photo electric, speed and reflective switches
• Reading and interpreting electrical schematics
• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on 480v thru 13.8kv power distribution switchgear
• Understand and follow NFPA70E regulations involving Arc Flash and Shock hazards
• Other duties as assigned
