Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Hampton, VA is seeking a Maintenance Inventory & Purchasing Coordinator (IGT).

The role focuses on managing spare part inventory, coordinating procurement, and supporting the preventive maintenance program to keep production running efficiently. You will work with Maintenance Supervisors, Facilities Engineers, and the Automation Controls team to ensure accurate inventory, timely work orders, and compliant processes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment or maintenance related field (Hydraulic Systems, CNC Machines, etc).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in an office administrative role managing inventory and scheduling operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
• Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify Microsoft Excel sheets using conditional formatting, formulas, and macros.
• Prepare Preventive Maintenance work orders on a weekly basis.
• Assist in developing general Maintenance procedures and work instructions.
• Request quotations for spare parts based on technical requests from Engineering and Maintenance teams.
• Order and track spare parts requests in the on-site Purchasing system.
• Organize ordered, received, on hold, and cancelled requests within an Excel spreadsheet.
• Maintain the Critical Equipment Spare Part Excel Sheet and create identification tags for parts received.
• Assist in planning Maintenance shutdowns with Supervisors and Facilities Engineering.
• Ensure a safe, organized workstation and adherence to company policies.

The Maintenance Inventory & Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for the management of spare part equipment, common maintenance tooling, daily/weekly/monthly reports, spare parts storage area, and preventive maintenance reporting. This role is best suited for someone who can demonstrate proficiency in organizational skills, Microsoft Excel, and a self-motivated attitude. This position will work with the Maintenance Supervisors, Facilities Engineers, and Automation Controls team to support Production by managing the equipment inventory and assisting in the management of the preventive maintenance program.

Anticipated Pay Range:$65K-80K per year. *Pay rates within this range are determined based on various factors including experience, education, certifications, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities, not limited to:

Create and modify Microsoft Excel Sheets through the utilization of conditional formatting, formulas, and macros.

Prepare the Preventative Maintenance work orders for the Maintenance team on a weekly basis.

Assist in the development of general Maintenance procedures and work instructions.

Responsible for requesting quotations for spare parts based on technical requests from Engineering and Maintenance teams.

Order and track spare parts requests in the on-site Purchasing system.

Organize all ordered, received, on hold, and cancelled requests within an Excel spreadsheet.

Able to create, utilize, and manipulate formulas in Excel to sort large amounts of data into a presentable format.

Maintain the Critical Equipment Spare Part Excel Sheet and create identification tags for parts that are received in.

Manage the maintenance common tooling process.

Assist in the management of calibrating all critical furnace equipment by sending/receiving devices before expiration dates.

Comfortable walking onto the Production floor to receive incoming spare parts and manage the spare parts storage area.

Gather data from multiple spreadsheet sources and create re-occurring reports for the on-site management team.

Assist in the planning of Maintenance shut down jobs working with the Maintenance Supervisor and Facilities Engineering team.

Manage consumable Preventive Maintenance spares as they are used throughout the year.

Demonstrate a basic understanding of Mechanical, Hydraulic, and Electrical system principles.

Comfortable working in dirty environments to support the Maintenance spare parts program.

Maintains a safe and organized workstation and follows all company policy, safety, and procedures.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

Be able to demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically in Excel.

Be able to demonstrate proficiency and provide examples of managing/organizing business inventory.
