Job summary

Primex Plastics Corporation is seeking a maintenance technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on automated industrial equipment, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and heaters. The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving and the ability to read, follow instructions, and work with limited supervision.

Candidates with experience in reading schematics, using measuring tools, and performing basic fabrication will excel.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform preventive maintenance procedures.
• Must have experience with electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing and mechanical systems.
• On-the-job training may be provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance procedures.
• Keep production lines and related equipment in good operating condition.
• Perform lift truck maintenance and repairs.
• Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance in normal operations.
• Promptly complete job activities.
• Must wear PPE in production area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Responsibilities Include performing maintenance and repairs on automated industrial equipment, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and heaters. If you have strong core skills in some of these systems, we will train on the job and/or provide outside schooling as needed. Related experience may include automotive engine rebuilds, repairing farm equipment, HVAC repair, programming robotics, etc. If you like working with your hands and understanding how things work, we have a career path for you!

• The ability to read, write and perform basic math skills.
• Be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Make time-efficient decisions.
• Be able to perform duties without direct supervision.
• Do basic plumbing, electrical and carpentry work and use related tools.
• Be able to do steel fabrication work.
• Be capable of using a tape measure, micrometer, dial indicator, feeler gauge, calipers and amp/volt meter.
• Be capable of using mig and stick welder and acetylene torch.
• Be capable of taking corrective action on problems that arise.
• Lifting Requirements will vary: If the task you are performing seems to heavy seek help or use proper lifting equipment such as hand truck, pallet jack, forklift, etc.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance procedures.
• Keep production lines and all related equipment in good operating condition.
• Perform lift truck truck maintenance and repairs.
• Perform routine maintenance, corrective actions and troubleshoot in normal operations.
• Promptly complete job activities.
• Change DC electric motor brushes, pump seals and bearings.
• In the event there is a fire, assist the firemen with the sprinkler system.
• Must wear PPE while in the production area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
