Job summary

Tempur Sealy seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair production machinery in a mattress manufacturing environment. You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues, read blueprints, perform preventative maintenance, and support installations.

The role requires 2–4 years in industrial settings. You will work with a range of equipment, follow safety regulations, document work, and collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated proficiency in mechanical, electrical (up to 480V), hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Basic welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on production equipment including sewing machines, quilting machines, foam cutting machinery, and assembly lines.
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) on all plant equipment according to established schedules and procedures.
  • Conduct routine inspections of machinery and facility infrastructure, identifying and addressing potential issues proactively.
  • Assist in the installation, relocation, and setup of new equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to facilitate repairs and installations.
  • Utilize a variety of hand and power tools, as well as testing equipment, safely and effectively.
  • Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used accurately.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with production personnel to minimize downtime and optimize operational flow.
  • May assist in training less experienced maintenance staff.

Job Summary

Performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance, repair, and modification of production machinery, equipment, and facilities to ensure optimal operational efficiency and safety within a mattress manufacturing environment.
