HI-LEX North America seeks an entry-level maintenance associate to assist with basic maintenance and repairs to keep the facility and equipment in good working order. You will learn foundational maintenance skills and support more experienced technicians while contributing to building, storage, production, and office areas.

You will perform routine tasks, troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical issues, handle carpentry, plumbing, painting, and document work.

POSITION SUMMARY

Assist with basic maintenance and repairs to ensure the facility and equipment are in good working order. Learn foundational maintenance skills and support higher-level technicians. Perform duties to assist in the maintaining and repair a variety of building and plant equipment and construct facility storage, production and office work areas.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform routine maintenance tasks (e.g., light bulb changes, minor repairs).
• Troubleshoot and assist with basic mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Perform basic carpentry, plumbing, and painting.
• Follow preventive maintenance schedules under supervision.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Accurately document work performed.
• Runs conduit and wires.
• Performs other duties as necessary.
• Use micrometers, calipers and like equipment, electrical measuring instruments, set up and run lathe, mill, cutting torch and arc welder. May use a powered industrial truck and hand pallet jack.
• Follow safety rules and keep the work area in a clean and orderly condition.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Functional Experience

• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Willingness to learn mechanical, electrical, and facilities maintenance.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Strong work ethic and adherence to safety practices.

Physical Requirements

• Also works in factory equipment with noise from the manufacturing environment.
• Exposure to moving equipment, parts, and electrical shock.
• Possible serious injury due to carelessness around equipment.
• Sometimes lifts, carries or moves objects – weighing up to 25 pounds.
