Job summary

Conway Public School District is seeking a skilled HVAC/Refrigeration Technician to repair and maintain school facilities and grounds. The role focuses on building systems, energy controls, and safe operation to support a productive learning environment.

The technician will work under the Maintenance Supervisor, perform electrical and HVAC-related installations and inspections, and ensure compliance with district policies and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Master or Journeyman license or EPA Certification.
• Boiler license preferred.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
• Ability to climb ladders of various sizes.
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, and carry heavy items.
• Experience maintaining and installing HVAC systems.

Responsibilities

• Follow district policies and procedures.
• Repair and maintain district facilities and property.
• Maintain electrical systems in facilities, including HVAC, kitchen equipment, energy recovery systems, and low-voltage work.
• Utilize district work order system and forms.
• Follow Safety Data Sheet directions for chemicals used.
• Assist Maintenance Supervisor with other tasks as needed.
• Communicate effectively with district personnel and students.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Terms Of Employment

The contract length will be 240 days.

Evaluation

Based on local district policy and Arkansas Department of Education guidelines, and performed by the maintenance supervisor.

Job Goal

The HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning)/Refrigeration Technician will endeavor to repair and maintain school facilities and grounds and establish a knowledge of maintaining building systems and grounds to provide a safe learning environment for the students and staff.

Performance Responsibilities

• Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
• Repairs and maintains the District facilities and property.
• Maintains facilities' electrical systems, to include:
• HVAC systems installation and inspection;
• Kitchen equipment installation and inspection;
• Energy recovery systems and equipment controls installation and inspection;
• Low voltage installation and inspection.
• Uses the District work order system and District forms.
• Follows all Material Safety Data Sheet directions on all chemical products used by the Conway Public School District; uses proper labeling and follows all safety procedures.
• Willing to assist with other assignments given by the Maintenance Supervisor
• Ability to work and communicate with other Conway Public School District personnel and students.
• Other duties, as assigned.
