Maintenance HVAC Mechanic (Mt. Holly, NC)

Location: Mount Holly, NC, US

Type: Full-time, Onsite

Inside the Role

1. Documentation substantiating eight years of maintenance HVAC experience in an industrial facility working on mechanical equipment is required.
2. Must demonstrate the safe use of various meters and gauges.
3. Must periodically and successfully update skills in the HVAC area.
4. Refrigerant certification is required.
5. High school diploma required; Associates Degree preferred.
6. Practical knowledge of Preventative Maintenance Systems and Root Cause Failure Analysis required.
7. Journeyman Card and documentation showing a Bona Fide Apprenticeship of 4 years in skilled trades are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting and repairs on all plant HVAC equipment, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
• Conduct high and low voltage electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
• Perform pneumatic controls troubleshooting and repairs, read electrical and pneumatic schematics.
• Repair leaks in coils and pipes, detect leaks in chilled water, DX, steam, and condensate systems.
• Balance airflows, change filters, fabricate and install ductwork.
• Perform electrical installations, use meters and gauges for troubleshooting, and replace pumps, belts, bearings, etc.
• Perform repairs on boilers and air compressors, operate chillers, and perform operational checks.
