Store Receiving and Maintenance Associate
The Store Receiving and Maintenance Associate is responsible for all aspects of facility maintenance, unloading trailers, processing, and moving merchandise to the appropriate area on the sales floor. This position is non-exempt.
Key Responsibilities
- Store Maintenance:
- Maintain cleanliness of the store, including vacuuming, sweeping, cleaning glass, collecting trash, spot cleaning carpets, and waxing floors.
- Replace store and maintenance supplies, restock bags at wrap stands, and replace interior and exterior lights as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of the associate lounge.
Customer Service and Safety:- Provide customer service as needed.
- Assist in correcting situations harmful to customers and/or associates, such as spills, broken glass, or icy sidewalks.
Merchandise Processing:- Unpack merchandise following store policies, aiming for 27 pieces per hour.
- Attach sensor tags properly without damaging merchandise, as directed by the store manager, for items priced at $ and higher.
- Deliver merchandise to appropriate departments and return carts to docks.
- Perform hanger pickups from each register stand.
- Ensure all merchandise is on the sales floor by store opening.
General Policies:- Report suspected theft and unusual activities according to security guidelines.
- Observe security and safety regulations, keeping aisles clear.
- Attend all store meetings and training sessions.
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance per dress code.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Assist in training new associates when requested.
Minimum Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to read and speak English.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to read and follow policy and procedure manuals.
- Lift between 10 lbs and 72 lbs at floor level and above shoulder height.
- Push or pull carts weighing 100 to 500 lbs.
- Climb ladders and work at heights.
- Operate a computer.
- Work independently and stand for long periods.
