Job summary

JBS Prepared Foods in Council Bluffs, IA is seeking a Production Maintenance team member for the 2nd shift. You will monitor production areas, troubleshoot Formax, Alkar, Multivac, and slicer equipment, and perform electrical/mechanical repairs to keep lines running smoothly.

Responsibilities include completing work orders, following safety procedures, and supporting start-up operations. 40+ hour schedule with competitive benefits is provided.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Mechanical inclination and knowledge of job specifications.

Responsibilities

• Monitor all production areas to ensure proper functioning of equipment and machinery.
• Complete assigned work orders.
• Adhere to Safety Procedures including Lock Out Tag Out and harness/fall protection.
• Adjust, repair, and replace electrical and electronic equipment.
• Promote and encourage safety in all maintenance aspects.
• Complete required paperwork.
• Oversee mechanical work of equipment.
• Correct or facilitate corrective actions when downtime is due to defects.
• Conduct pre-operational inspections and support production supervision to start operations on schedule.
• Work 40+ hours per week in all plant areas.

Duties

• Completes assigned responsibilities and oversees the mechanical work of equipment.
• Responsible for correcting or facilitating correctable measures when downtime results from mechanical or technical defects.
• Conducts pre-operational inspection and handles maintenance concerns of Production Supervisors to make sure operation begins as scheduled.
• Work 40+ hours per week in all areas of the plant.

Maintenance Technician Education And Experience Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak in English.
• Ability to perform general mathematical calculations.
• Mechanical inclination and knowledge of job specifications.

Previous Production Maintenance Experience Required

• Knowledge of industrial manufacturing equipment

Work Environment / Physical Demands

• Subjected to hot/cold and wet environments
• Must have the ability to climb stairs, ladders, etc.
