Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking a maintenance technician to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment in our Georgia plant. You will support safety, predictive and productive maintenance programs to help achieve the facility’s goals and ensure equipment reliability.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED and hands-on maintenance experience. Read manuals, diagnose problems, perform repairs with hand and power tools, and maintain a clean, safe work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience in maintenance systems or technical training accepted.
• Ability to read manuals and work orders.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to interpret mechanical/electrical schematics or diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain production machines and facility equipment.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs during production and scheduled maintenance.
• Perform simple machinist duties and general repairs.
• Diagnose problems, replace parts, test and adjust.
• Read manuals and work orders to perform maintenance.
• Perform preventive maintenance on machines and plant facilities.
• Use hand tools, power tools, meters and material handling equipment.
• Maintain safe, clean, organized work areas.

Job description

Purpose & Scope:

The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the facility’s business goals and objectives. Including, installation, repairs, adjustments and maintenance of all equipment and machinery with in the facility.

Principle Responsibilities:

• Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the facility’s equipment.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
• Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
• Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
• Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
• Perform tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Manager or Supervisor.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Prior experience in maintenancesystems or equivalent degree from a technical school or equivalent combination of educationand experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw andinterpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written,oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables instandardized situations.
