Metropolitan Market, LLC is seeking a Maintenance Helper Clerk to keep store interiors and exteriors clean and in good repair. You will balance routine tasks with urgent guest needs and assist customers and team members to ensure a welcoming environment.

Overview

Working often behind the scenes to maintain the safety of our stores and grounds, our Maintenance Helper Clerks help ensure our facilities are clean, in good repair, and visually appealing for guests. This fast-paced environment requires team members to prioritize between routine tasks (such as regular equipment checks and cleaning) and immediate guest needs.

What you’d do

• Perform general cleaning and maintenance for the interior and exterior of the store, including surrounding grounds.
• Assist with maintaining interior and exterior areas, including equipment and fixtures.
• Provide excellent customer service, including helping customers find products, locating team members to assist customers, and addressing breakages or spills resulting from customer incidents.
• Prevent internal and external loss.

Qualifications

We seek candidates with a high level of self-motivation and initiative who can problem solve and work well in a diverse team. Successful candidates will be able to prioritize multiple tasks, produce quality output under deadlines, and possess strong time management and organizational skills.

Team members should have strong interpersonal and oral communication skills, an understanding of basic health and sanitation requirements, and knowledge of cleaning tools and solutions. MSDS experience is preferred. Knowledge of food safety, HACCP/Department of Health guidelines is desirable. Experience in cleaning, maintenance, and light industry-related repair is a plus. Candidates must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds, climb ladders, and hold a valid WA State Driver’s License with a responsible driving record.
