Job summary

DARRAN is seeking a dependable Maintenance Helper in High Point, NC to support preventative maintenance and repairs across facilities, fleet, and equipment. This hands-on role requires problem solving, tool use, and comfort in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will assist with building systems, production equipment, and service records while coordinating with vendors when specialized work is needed. The ideal candidate has a HS diploma or GED and relevant maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete routine repairs, painting, renovations, and minor plumbing work.
• Maintain production and operational equipment (air compressors, saws, conveyors, etc.).
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly.

Job Details: Job Location: DARRAN - HIGH POINT, NC 27263, DARRAN is seeking a dependable and experienced Maintenance Helper to help keep our facilities, fleet, and equipment operating safely and efficiently. This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys solving problems, working with tools, and supporting a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. The Maintenance Helper will be responsible for supporting preventative maintenance, general repairs, troubleshooting, facility upkeep, and vehicle and equipment support across multiple buildings and operational areas.

In this role, you will help maintain building systems and production‑related equipment, respond to repair needs, support preventative maintenance schedules, and work with outside vendors when specialized service is needed. You will also assist with fleet and vehicle maintenance tracking, maintain work orders and service records in the company maintenance system, and help ensure facilities, grounds, and equipment remain in good working condition.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily maintenance operations for plant, engineering, warehouse, and office facilities.

• Support maintenance needs in additional company buildings and operational areas as required.
• Assist with company grounds and outdoor area maintenance.
• Maintain service records, work orders, inspection records, and asset history in the company maintenance system.
• Support preventative maintenance programs for facilities, fleet, and equipment.
• Keep the maintenance department clean, safe, and organized.
• Maintain logs for tools, equipment, and assigned assets.
• Reinforce proper care and accountability for tools, machines, and maintenance equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualified candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and prior experience in industrial, commercial, or facilities maintenance. Technical training or trade school education is preferred. Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, and general building maintenance is important, along with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and manage multiple priorities. Experience with computerized maintenance management systems such as Limble and experience supporting fleet or vehicle maintenance are preferred.

This position requires a valid driver's license and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, move throughout plant and office environments, and work indoors and outdoors in a variety of conditions. The ideal candidate will be organized, dependable, safety‑minded, and comfortable working independently while supporting the day‑to‑day maintenance needs of the business.
