Job summary

Flex-N-Gate LLC. in Warren, MI is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support repairs, installations, and troubleshooting in the plant.

You will assist the Maintenance Department with basic repairs, equipment inspections, and project support while maintaining safety and quality standards. Key duties include shop cleaning, building repairs, carpentry, painting, scheduling PMs, tracking parts, using power tools, and documenting maintenance activities.

Qualifications

• Understand and follow all quality alerts.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic in multiple units.
• Apply commonsense instructions and carry out standardized tasks.

Responsibilities

• Overall shop cleaning and organizing (including bathrooms and lunch room).
• Basic building and office repairs (light switches, assemble and repair office furniture).
• Occasionally performs general carpentry.
• Paints as required using rollers, brushes, extension poles, or spray guns.
• Performs cleaning and inspections of equipment and the building.
• Assists with installation projects (install lights, racks, etc.).
• Completes basic maintenance paperwork and assists with PMs.
• Tracks and records parts or tools that may need to be purchased.
• Uses power tools to complete repairs.
• Performs general housekeeping duties as required in work areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS:

3. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
