Job summary

CYM Living is seeking a dependable Work Order Team Member for the Chicago market. You will maintain units and communities, perform trash-outs, bulk item disposal, painting, and support general upkeep on a hands-on team.

The role is outdoors/in all weather with a personal pickup truck required and vehicle/fuel reimbursed. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, PTO, and more.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Work Order Team Member to join our maintenance team in the Chicago market. The Work Order Team Member keeps our units and communities clean, clear, and well maintained by completing unit trash-outs, removing bulk debris, painting common areas and building exteriors, and supporting the maintenance team on general upkeep and special projects. This is a hands-on, physically active role that works both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. A personal pickup truck is required, and a vehicle and fuel reimbursement is provided.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete unit trash-outs.
• Move and transport appliances as needed.
• Pick up and dispose of trash, mattresses, construction debris, and other bulk items.
• Paint common areas and building exteriors.
• Assist with snow removal and building cleaning.
• Perform landscaping duties as needed.
• Provide access to utility companies, vendors, and contractors.
• Assist the maintenance team with general property upkeep and special projects.
• Input time on all work orders worked and close out work orders as they are completed.
• Communicate with your supervisor about supplies, equipment needs, and any larger issues that require escalation.
• Follow all safety regulations and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
• Comply with all company policies, local laws, and Fair Housing regulations.
• Pickup truck required. This position requires the use of a personal pickup truck to transport appliances, debris, and bulk items between properties.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
• Ability to repeatedly lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and to move heavier items such as appliances with the help of another person or by using a hand truck or dolly.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including snow removal during winter months.
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and climb stairs and ladders for extended periods.
• Dependable, with strong follow-through and the ability to work independently across multiple properties.
• Prior experience in porter, grounds, general labor, moving, or maintenance support work preferred.
• Basic painting experience preferred.
• Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet to document work orders and record time.

Compensation

PAY RANGE: $20.00-$21.00 per hour.

VEHICLE AND FUEL REIMBURSEMENT: $150.00 biweekly. A personal pickup truck is required for this position.
