Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of related maintenance experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, and carpentry.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations for measurements and quantities.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and emergency response procedures.
  • Effective communication to interact with multiple levels in the company.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to the maintenance team and coordinate workloads.
  • Assist in monitoring KPIs and tracking performance.
  • Lead 6S practices and ensure standard work adherence.
  • Support work order closures and stock control transactions.
  • Assist root cause analysis and communicate findings with management.
  • Participate in required training and development activities.
  • Contribute to performance, quality, safety, and attendance actions.
  • Communicate production metrics to various organizational levels.
  • Monitor time and attendance and ensure policy compliance.
  • Assist investigations and reporting of incidents and non-conformities.
  • Interface with Production Scheduling to determine shift plans.
  • Audit Operator PMs on cell equipment.
  • Apply department-specific technical skills as needed.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.

Job Overview

The Maintenance Group Lead is an entry level position for the work cell production line employees. This position is responsible for the overall KPI’s and general management of the employees in the cell.

A Day In The Life
  • Provide leadership to maintenance team, assist in coordinating workloads, providing support, monitoring issues, ensuring needs are met, assist with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) tracking
  • Aid in ensuring people and resources are applied in an efficient and effective manner, so that the team follows defined standard work procedures while achieving expectations.
  • Reinforce and lead by example full adherence to 6S (Safety, Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) practices.
  • Support work order closures and stock control transactions.
  • Assist in performing root cause analysis and resolving problems, maintaining communication with management throughout the process.
  • Being a committed participant in undertaking required continuous training and development, during the timeline expected and as required for the position.
  • Assist management in routine performance, quality, safety, and attendance corrective actions with employees in your work cell.
  • Required to communicate and maintain your work cell’s production metrics and information and at times communicate results to various levels of organization in both formal and informal settings.
  • Assist in monitoring time and attendance and ensure compliance with policy.
  • Assist in carrying out incidents, accident and non-conformity investigations and associated reporting and action closure.
  • Interface is required with Production Scheduling to determine schedules for shift production.
  • Audit Operator PMs on cell equipment.
  • Technical skills required by the department.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What will help you thrive in this role?
  • Educational Background: A high school diploma or an equivalent qualification is required. Additional education from a technical school, especially related to maintenance fields such as HVAC, electrical, or plumbing, is preferred and can make a candidate more competitive.
  • Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of three to five years of related experience in maintenance roles. This experience helps ensure that the candidate is familiar with the duties of the job and can perform them effectively from the start
  • Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), electrical systems, plumbing, and carpentry are crucial. These skills are essential for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and executing repairs.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure. This includes working with whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, which is important for tasks like measuring, cutting, and calculating material quantities.
  • Safety and Emergency Response: Ability to respond appropriately to safety and emergency situations is critical. This includes knowledge of emergency protocols, safety procedures, and the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills are necessary to interact with various levels within the company, from peers to management. This includes the ability to listen well, understand problems, and convey solutions clearly.
